Seconded on the insurance idea. As a young man who occasionally (rarely) shares cars with his parents, we’ve made sure that my primary vehicle is still co-owned by my dad in order to keep insurance rates down.

I’m white, but a member of the LGBT community. It was mostly numb, but tinged with a deep sadness, when I realized Wednesday that I should start carrying around my multitool again to defend myself. I hope, I really really hope, that I never have to use it, but it seems almost necessary. It’s crushing.
