Do what microsoft did early in the 360 cycle. Pay a lot of money to have people from the “other side of the fence” to work on your platform. They didn’t get things like Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon because the Japanese developers believed so strongly in the microsoft brand.

Yeah, that was definitely an interesting mechanic. I think they will do away with random encounters, bringing the camera lower so you can still be surprised by enemies (or maybe it doesn’t go into a separate “fight level” so that might speed things up a bit and make it less monotonous.
