And that’s not even accounting for places that flat out forbid tipping. I remember once trying to tip a person at one place and being told that I couldn’t.

I was going to say the same thing. Higher end restaurants might try to head hunt executive chefs or up-and-coming sous chefs that have made a name for themselves, but the idea that there is some kind of fierce competition between fast food restaurants stealing each other’s staff away is complete fabricated bullshit.
Silver Lining: This weeks Last Week Tonight is probably going to be bonkers.
Jesus christ... The nose knows, y’know?
I mean, cold fries are the fucking worst but not ‘open fire on someone’ levels of bad.
“I don’t think in the United States of America, we should put a ceiling on how far people can go.”
If you want to go that route you could probably say that people shouldn’t be celebrating birthdays at all. They only hold any significance because we assign it to them. In which case, why not get what you want. I mean, what the hell do you think is appropriate for a 25 year old. ‘Here your IRS Form 1040-themed…
Like, I never really got why it was acceptable for bartenders to be bought drinks anyway. You’re on the fucking job. Yes, i know people are trying to be generous and what not, but, you’re working. Literally no other job, aside from maybe exotic dancer, is it ok for some random customer to just give you booze.
I said what I’m going to say in [a private] caucus [meeting Wednesday].
And also in thinly veiled pot shots in major publications. That’s where this is appropriate.”
I mean, aside from a general manager, who the hell is going to know exactly how much a part of the total cost of an entree one individual element of it costs? and even then, you’re dealing in bulk a lot of times. If you take the chicken off, they’re probably paying X amount of dollars for a case of chicken breasts,…
Hate to break it to you but, uh, little sis ain’t a vegetarian if she’s eating meat of any kind.
For tips done on the app, then yeah I’d say don’t tip, since apparently the driver isn’t going to see it anyway (or rather, its not the additional money you assume they will be getting).
So, the fee you pay upfront to for the order isn’t covering the pay of the drivers at all then. That’s shitty.
Take this with a grain of salt, but I’ve also heard that the danger of salmonella from raw eggs is primarily from the shells. That is supposedly the part of the egg that has salmonella on it, and so long as you crack an egg properly and quickly and the insides to really touch the outside of the shell, then your risk…
*whispers ‘Valhalla!’ to himself while eating traditional cookie dough*
I mean, when you think about it, if they’re not shoving bamboo wedges under thier nails, they’re downright being hospitable to them!
A little pricey but then again, part of what is being paid for is convenience. And I think you may be underestimating the degree that some people don’t even want to put in the effort to order a cake from one place and pizza from another.
Is there a difference?
Yeah, really was kind of kicking them while they’re down wasn’t it?
