Are we sure it’s called “Glare” and not “Lens Flare”? I really wanted to make this joke and was excited it wasn’t already posted.

Ugh. Look, I LOVE the web wings. I’ve loved them since I first saw them in the comics. I’ve always wanted movie Spidey to have them. But, why is Stark making all his shit? Stark should’ve allowed Parker into his lab to create his own stuff. Also, WTF is Parker making a video of himself cruising around with his mask

Yeah I was all in already but this trailer just made sure I see this day one.

Screw it. I’m a Netflix subscriber. I’ll watch this :)

Oh, I read a description of this premise the other day, and it read more like a dark comedy. This trailer makes it look like a totally serious action/thriller. It reminds me more of Battle Royal with the participants attached to booby traps and thus forced to cooperate, rather than something like the Purge which

Anyone want to hear my new theory? Here it is: Arnold’s consciousness is in the player piano in the saloon. Maeve really hurt his feelings when she silenced him last week, so now he won’t talk to her anymore.

WRONG!!!!!

Eh....I think this is only an issue because oversensitive liberal white folk who can’t use those words don’t understand using words like that to make jokes about yourself or just saying the words in general without censoring ourselves because we can. Remember all the clutched pearls over the president saying ‘nigger’?

Now playing

Pretty slick. “It is light, but it also has weight.” Good line. Some really nice transitions, too. A nice step away from the ubiquitous Star Wars Wipe.

Agreed. The premiere worked for me for two reasons:

Deadpool movie is a brainchild of Ryan Reynolds, that movie wouldn’t have happened without him. Or am I missing something?

all you need is for someone over comms to say something like “Don’t worry about 5th street, the defenders have that under control”

which would be followed by tony saying “who are the defenders” and then you guys this slow mo cut have luke cage throwing an alien towards jessica who punches it into the sky, while

“because I don’t think what anybody wants to do is have such important characters show up for one second.”

Not for nothing, but it had and has everything to do with homophobia, which was just an accepted thing in the 80's. It didn’t have anything to do with whether or not you were actually attracted to other boys when 12 yearolds used it, but the reason it was an insult was because being gay was an innately negative thing,

I agree it’s very much this. Those kids lives were my life. Born in 82 and a D&D / MTG player I got called ‘faggot’ dozens of times per day despite not being gay (hint, bullies don’t actually care if you aren’t whatever they’re calling you).

I’m in disbelief at reading this article and alternating between awe and sadness for Noah Schnapp.

Maybe I’m being obtuse but I felt the gay slurs used in Stranger Things were part and parcel with the vernacular of the day (and later times really). They weren’t calling him gay because he was or had demonstrated his “gayness” in some way off-screen; they were calling him gay because many kids are jerks who called
