When I was in college, there was a book series that spawned a TV show, “The Worst Case Scenario.” The commercials were all like, “WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU WERE ATTACKED BY A BEAR???!!!!” “WHAT WOULD YOU DO IF YOU DROVE OFF A CLIFF????!!!!!!!!!” Each time the commercials asked one of these questions, my roommate would

And Indianapolis as well.

I used to work there! Oh, what an . . . interesting . . . time that was.

I agree with both statements. This is why I don’t think it’s a good idea to create a ban on one based on the existence of the other.

You’re advocating making a restricted class even more restrictive. How is this a good idea?

Judging by your response, I assumed that being on the list revokes all your rights as a citizen. All I can find is that it puts you on the No Fly list, which I’m also not in favor of, but I thought was different. Not sure why there are two names for essentially the same thing.

OK, OK, I guess you CAN go wrong!

I was just about to suggest looking at Lauren Conrad’s line for Kohl’s, but I checked it out, and she doesn’t have anything in plus sizes >:-(

I did see a skirt last spring that I swear was made out of the same fabric that was on my grandma’s armchair. Surprisingly enough, I liked both versions.

I think it’s a little more complicated than that. For one thing, part of the murkiness of the watch list is that I’m not sure of what it actually is used for now. I had a vague sense that it just meant that the FBI was watching you, which would be potentially annoying but wouldn’t necessarily restrict your normal

Can’t go wrong with clothes made of curtains!

I’m in favor of massively restricting access to guns, but I don’t want to base it on the terror watch list either. It’s murky and without due process (sure, you can write a letter, but who says they’ll do anything about it?); it’s not a good standard to decide how we restrict gun rights.

Sqarr is addicted to rageahol, which is sometimes funny and informative, but sometimes causes him or her to lash out at people who don’t deserve it. I wouldn’t take it too much to heart.

I’m so sorry you experienced that! And your poor mom too, of course. Even having found out about it as an adult, I have had some wistful moments thinking about what might have been. I always wanted a sister and got 3 little brothers instead. I love them dearly, of course, but I have wondered if our lost sibling was

Every time I read a comment you’ve made, I feel like I need to confess how embarrassingly long it took me to figure out your username. I was like,

I was in my late 20s when I was having a conversation with my mom about my cousin, who had 2 miscarriages and was really struggling emotionally. She told me that she’d had a miscarriage between me and my oldest brother. I had no idea! It’s just not something that people talk about. Of course, at the time she lost the

I feel like I could pass her in the notions aisle in Wal-Mart, tape measure around the neck included.

I know it’s so hard and painful to do, but I wish more people would talk about their miscarriages and other fertility issues. I was completely shocked when I realized how common it is, and I think it would help a lot with the feelings of failure that so many women have when they have trouble conceiving or carrying.

At first glance, I thought she had a purse strap over her shoulder, but no. No, it’s a tape measure. Because now she’s the kind of down-home gal who makes her own clothes, I guess? She is so real and down to earth!

I’m not sure which Olson and which SO is in the image at the top, but they look so much alike that it’s weirding me out a little. I think it’s mostly their mouths, but in the picture, even their noses and eyebrows look similar.
