They did make them with the 2.5 turbo but it was a much smaller turbo. I agree, the Baja would be an awful car if it was lacking on engine output. Mine is pretty gravy on the low end torque though. One of these days I want to flash its E-85 tune for a weekend and see how many gallons of fuel I can convert into fun.

If you’re a big guy you get asked to help people move all the time already, my Baja cannot haul a couch so the lack of capacity is a win for me. However it handles everything I need most of the time, I don’t own anything that needs towing.
