Apple skewing their products' performance?!? GET OUT!!

So exactly what changed to make this formerly free app into a paid app?

Most sensible answer.

There's other, FREE methods of them accomplishing this than start charging for a (previously)free app. Couldn't they just make a notification on the desktop inviting people to the App Store?

I think he meant that most platforms can use Skype (regardless of being propietary or not), whereas Facetime only works on Macs. So in effect, Facetime is "closed" to Windows and Linux users, in contrast with Skype.

I think the voice in the back of everyone's head is saying "tons of videochat apps were not preloaded on the computer yet they are free. Why has Apple not figured out how to make it free?"

Yes, Apple has a right to charge what they want for their own products. Heck, they could charge $10 for it, and nobody can stop them, right? Why not go crazy and charge $100? It's their app. Who says they can't charge $500? Nobody, that's who.

Well, few people know where the milk they're drinking comes from, much less the cow. If you try to rationalize it, you get to understand that it doesn't make sense to have an aversion to human milk (especially since we all drank it at one point), but no qualms about bovine milk.

Thank Gizmodo for keeping us abreast of this cause that's so close to my heart.

Powerpig is awesome. It's a shame we don't see more of his work as before.

For a moment I thought the title said "This Vending Machine Churns Out Flesh - Baked Bread".

Win!

Go easy on Brian Barrett; he's Human After All...

I doubt they will sell many of these Around the World...

You're crazy!

There's one thing you can do - change your password & remove unwanted apps.

I've heard nothing but raving reviews for the Atrix - I seriously don't know where you got the "fairly dissapointing" line.

Blackberry were the best option for smartphones in their heyday; what tedknaz meant was that, at the time, no one thought the smartphone could be improved beyond RIM's solution, just like people now think iPhone will always be the best smartphone. Unfortunately for RIM, they insisted they were doing everything right

It's great you have the option to use your widgets or not on Android...use it whichever way you want.
