Okay, so Apple has every right to mistreat their content providers if they're competing on the same market, right? Why doesn't Apple just outright block them out?

The issue is not charging for subscriptions, it's the outrageous amount they're charging when these publishers' profits are already thin.

Obviously it's not impossible for Apple to build a self-activating iPad like millions of other devices already do, so how can you even justify for them to REQUIRE even one single application (even if it wasn't as bloated as iTunes for Windows) for this?

It's pretty simple...Apple wants close to 1/3 of the profits for simply hosting content. But I can see how it might be hard for an Apple fanboy to see Apple as greedy.
