It is very difficult for just one crazy asshole to fuck anything up. As this article notes, getting into the point where you are capable of spreading a bioweapon in the first place is incredibly difficult to begin with, and even then the chance of failure is still greater than success. You need lots of crazy assholes

Worth noting is that The Division does give a nod to some of these issues (which the author couldn’t have known, this article was written a year ago):
1. The game notes that the virus was specifically engineered to not be affected by the vaccine, and there is some intel indicating that everyone was taken by surprise

If you want to be somewhat proud of humanity you can look at our stance on biological weapons as something we can hopefully build towards as we move to combat climate change/not blow ourselves up with nuclear weapons.

Think of pets as another character you can control, they all have different abilities and functions. You are a DPS class (damage dealer). If to you plan to solo, get a bear or some other tanky pet, if you going to group then get a tiger or something that does a lot of damage.

Good to know. Thanks! I knew my bird was fighting for me. I just wasn’t sure what relevance it would have long-term, how it’d improve and so on. I’m letting the game explain most of this to me as I play.

As a person who plays WoW of and on since release, this was painful to read (because of the noob behavior like deleting your character just to make the same exact character again...). That pet is your Hunter’s life. He soaks up damage and pulls aggro so you don’t have to take damage. You can catch other creatures and

When you CHOOSE to snipe them. And you can choose not to shoot them, they’ll just shoot you instead.

Oh thank God for that. Cuz you repeated yourself about 11 times, verbatim. But, if you’re convinced that it’s completely out of bounds to create a subset of prisoners that might team up to loot, murder, and wreak havoc on a city weakened by a tragedy...well then you just don’t have much of an imagination. And it

“If we want to call video games art, then they need to be just as open to this type of criticism as books or movies.”

One of the main villains in the game is a man called Charles Bliss, leader of the Last Man Brigade, who becomes a bit mad with power. He institutes himself as de facto dictator and tries to rule part of the city with an iron fist.

Holy christ you just keep going don’t you? About a fucking video game. Go back to Gawker or tumblr or wherever. You’re too sensitive for real life, where people make creative video games.

Ok, so yeah, I can get on board with the idea that this maybe isn’t the best writing ever, in fact I found myself rolling my eyes at a lot of the in game dialogue. I don’t have an issue with that idea.

No, it’s a game that assumes ANYONE could become a psychopath. You aren’t simply fighting convicts and Black Lives Matters protesters. You are fighting anyone that has decided now is the opportunity to take what they want by force at the expense of other people’s lives.

I am a card carrying Oath keeper and you couldn’t be more wrong. The reason the Oath keepers exist is to prevent this kind of thing from happening. The poor and disenfranchised is who we protect! Its who we ARE! The Division is our worst fears in game form, a disaster that gives the government the excuse they need to

The entire premise of this gameyou’re gunning down the very victims of the original terrorist attack, but it’s okay because you’re the “good guy,” because the government says you are, and every escaped convict from Rikers teamed up into a single comic-book street gang to terrorize the city like animals—is so

“victims” don’t go running around shooting at people.

Jingoistic, absolutely.

That is NOT the “entire premise of the game”. Holy shit, is everything you know about this game taken just from this review?

Now playing

I totally see where you’re coming from, but have you played the game? This is the kind of virtual people you fight with:

There have been many critics that take issue with the ‘killing poor people bit.’ Me, on the other hand, could care less. It is shooting at you? Can you shoot back at it? Okay, that’s enough for me.

I never questioned the morality of killing pink demon cow things in DOOM, or wondered what the part of the world the
