The average kinetic energy of a baseball thrown at that speed is about the same as a .22LR round. Taking one of those in the chest, through sports equipment, at 60 feet wouldn't be something I'd line up to try.

I played D2 after getting the base game in a humble bundle, and even went so far as to pick up the Mercury and Mars expansions when they went on sale. It’s an ok game, it really never tickled my desire for loot that was meaningfully different, and the lack of crunchy numbers to tweak was a let down.
When we think about genetic differences, most people are concerned only with phenotype, and if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck...well, it takes many different analyses of hundreds of genes and tons of phylogenetic analysis and that same duck may be considered a goose next year when new data emerges.
Distill this and hook it directly into my veins. We definitely didn’t deserve this particular JC.
What exactly is your angle here? To defend the idea of religion, but none in particular? As far as I’m concerned, your little definition is so vague, and so far from actual practice as to mean nothing at all.
Religion is the organization of belief into a power structure. These abuses perpetrated by the church wouldn't be accessible or covered up, if not for the power structures that are the definition of the religion. From the Pope to the local priest, there is no religion called Catholicism without organized power.
Eh. Every gun owner is responsible until they’re not. It’s the fact that by way of commerce, of purchase, they own the right to end lives at their choosing. Nobody should have that power, and those that do, that we as a people sanction to have such power (police and military) are only allowed to use it under certain…
114 Justices have served on the Supreme Court. Only 37 have ever been nominated and not made it (including Garland) and of those 37, only 11 have been defeated when the Senate brought forth a vote.
I’m from New York, and I couldn’t tell you anything about what Gillibrand thinks or stand for other than she ran on being pro-gun for awhile until that proved to be distasteful and has had to walk back her stance there.
Frankly, how they’ve played it over their entire careers has worked out very, very well for THEM. Pelosi is twice Speaker of the House, sits on a fat stack of cash, and can do whatever she pleases for the rest of her life. Schumer is in the easiest position of least power imaginable, he also sits on a fat stack of…
And what percentage of LGBTQ individuals would that represent? Are you off the mind that if even one person would be denied an abortion, to hell with it all and elect the Republican that would decimate rights for the entire group?
The thing that really bums me out is WotC will almost certainly base the game on 5th ed D&D, and not the classic AD&D that made Baldurs Gate so easy to play. The most complicated things were dual classing and saving throws, and nothing got in the way of the game. 5e is a fun tabletop strategy game that allows for…
Baldurs Gate was based on AD&D, 2nd ed though, if I recall. Not the D20 system/3.0/3.5 that spawned Pathfinder. THAC0 was still a thing, and it was before WotC got the license from TSR. Obsidian really channeled much of that game system, whereas the recent Pathfinder game (IMHO) was a disaster of cumbersome and…
Your lucky. Even vast regions within the city of Chicago are served by a single provider, and those that are not are the wealthy, white Northside neighborhoods. I pay double what you do for the same service, and Comcast doesn’t offer any better deals since there is no competition in this part of the city.
That’s not even the point. It’s the bad press, the threat of seeming to be associated with NOT speaking out against the terrible happenings in their headquarter state, that is meaningful long before any financial repercussions actually reach the C-Suite. And the more potential major corporate donors are publicly…
With the hopes that the citizens - the only people with actual power to change their leaders - will pressure them to change things because what they did caused all their lives to suck.
I hear you. I don’t want my cynicism and negativity to come across as a criticism of you or your position, I feel for how wearying it must be. I, too, want to live in that world, I’ve just been crushed by the realty of the last few years.
Also, unfortunately, lots of game directors are male and white.
And when did the Playdate con people trademark their name for the thing? Or is that too mainstream, and they were just assuming it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s not like the guy from Panic threatened to sue them into the ground.
