Did you see Tua’s postgame interview? Like Barry explained, he saw cover 2 immediately, knew that if he could get the safety to bite to the right just a little bit he’d have Smith 1 on 1 to the outside, and did exactly that. Really, a remarkable play.

Now, if only his father were an NBA GM and head coach, he could have a chance to be our next Austin Rivers.

Having never seen either player actually play, I looked at the stats and Canaan does, indeed, seem to be a much better player than James.

There might be a lot of other reasons, but you’re fooling yourself if you think the anthem protests aren’t part of it. I know quite a few people, and you probably do to, who absolutely refuse to watch the NFL anymore because of the anthem protests. These same people were watching last year, but stopped this year. And

Bad pass, but doesn’t Oladipo or whoever that is need to come back to the ball. If takes a step forward instead of continuing to fade backward, either he catches the pass or Rozier fouls him.

I like Bagley a lot. He is obviously big and talented, but he also seems to play really hard. He doesn’t look totally comfortable guarding wings, but there he is, running guys off the three-point line, and busting his butt to get back to the cutter. I’ve been very impressed with him. Definitely living up to the hype.

I agree about the no-call. If anything, it looked like Lebron lowered his shoulder to create the contact. I’m also fine with the ejection. It may have been a little quick, but I assume there was some complaining leading up to it. And even if it was the first time Lebron had complained all night, his hissy fit deserved

Good point. On the other hand, this is a completely overhauled roster. It usually takes a couple of years of a team playing together for the defense to move on a string the way the Celtics already do. So, maybe there is just as good of a chance that the defense gets better?

I already liked Jaylen Brown, but after watching the 1v1 video, I’m definitely a fan.

Great article. I’d never watched Anderson play before, and I came away very impressed. Querrey had been playing great, and I was rooting for him to get to the semis, but Anderson was hitting the ball. so. cleanly. Great match.

The men’s clothes are absolutely atrocious. I usually like retro cloths, but that blocky, Pharell-designed abomination Youzhny and at least 1/2 of the men are wearing is absolutely atrocious, and then the other half are wearing some cubist-inspired atrocity from Nike that fades into a dull grey shirts and shorts.

Well, then I guess we’re both cherry-picking. I’ve read up on it, and the actual science behind whether Meldonium actually helps or not is murky at best. In fact, some people think the possible side effects might hurt athletic performance. Creatine also helps recovery time, but it’s not banned. Maria cheated, but

Yesterday’s article was junk. One anecdotal account from someone who admitted she was probably experiencing a placebo effect. There is no evidence that meldonium actually increases athletic performance, which is why the length of Maria’s ban was so ludicrous in the first place.

Did you read the entire article from yesterday. The doctors Thompson consulted said that the increase in performance was almost certainly a placebo effect. All of the articles I have read about the actual science of meldonium said it was very questionable whether it helped Maria at all.

This is correct. This is one instance where I think the spin is actually reality. Maria played her butt off last night and was clearly sending a message. Halep was game; Maria just kept up the pressure the entire match. It was amazing tennis. If Maria is going to keep playing like that, she can push whatever

The fact that the wild card exists negates your argument. Maria is as deserving as anyone else who might have gotten the wild card instead of her. Besides that, she’s good for the women’s tour. Creates interest and puts butts in seats.

I noticed that too. Coinky-dink?

Yeah. I thought this article by Wojo did a pretty good job discussing that.

My charitable analysis is that maybe Kyrie has read the tea leaves, he knows Lebron is leaving after next year, and he doesn’t want to be stuck in Cleveland post-Lebron. All the talk about him wanting to be the #1 option, yeah, that’s crazy.

I also don’t think Lebron cares about the assets. He has been vocal that the players, especially superstar players, should be paid more. In his mind, Lebron might be thinking, Gilbert is making a ton of money and can afford to pay the luxury tax. Lebron doesn’t care what it costs Gilbert to improve the team.
