Exactly. I will be pulling for Federer until I feel that his grand slam count is finally safe from Rafa’s unrelenting stalking.

I love Federer, but Wawrinka’s one-hander is way deadlier. Also, I think most people agree that until recently, Federer’s backhand was his Achilles’ heel. The reason he has historically had so much trouble with Nadal is because Nadal would hit such high, heavy topspin to Federer’s backhand, and Federer couldn’t do…
I also just read on his Wikipedia page that he was adopted, which makes me like him more!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but he’s never been *this* good, at any level, has he? Anyway, it’s been fun to watch, and I hope he keeps it up (though I also hope the Yankees lose).
I hate the Yankees, but I can’t help buy like this guy. Actually, this Yankees teams overall seems a lot more likeable than most of their recent teams. Maybe it’s because Jeter is finally gone. Anyway, I am rooting for Judge to keep doing cool things this year, while I hope his team continues to fade out of…
Was he that good in the minors? I don’t follow baseball very closely, but I follow sports, and I never heard of this guy until he got promoted to the Yankees last year. He’s 25, so it took him a little while to get to the majors. Is this sustainable? Did a switch finally go off for him? How is he doing this?
Not trading the #3 for Butler is inexcusable. It’s a no-brainer. It’s nice that you are giving him the benefit of the doubt. But as a Celtics fan, this one pisses me off more than any other time he stood pat on a trade. Also, I can’t believe he didn’t take Fultz. Isaiah is going to be demanding some major money…
I don’t get the Sharapova hate. She is actually a really, really good tennis player. (Or was. Remains to be seen if she regains her form). And she used that, plus her good looks, to build a successful brand. I get that Serena is a far, far superior player (20-1, head to head?), so it doesn’t seem right that…
I dunno. In the video, I thought his forehand looked pretty good for an old guy in a suit.
My local police station had a community open house. We were able to go into the training room. There was a large screen on the wall, which they use for interactive video trainings. I volunteered to do a training scenario. I was given a gun with a laser gun that looked at felt like a real service revolver. I was…
Agree 1000%. I don’t know much about boxing, but I’m pretty sure you don’t cover up by bending over so you can get hit in the top of your head instead of your face.
I think this is a myth that defense was more physical in the 80's/90's. When I watch highlights on Youtube from the 80's/90's, I don’t see it. Maybe there were a few years in the mid-late 90's when the game got really physical, but overall, I think this is way overblown.
I’ll admit that I root for anyone to beat Nadal simply so that he doesn’t catch Federer’s grand slam tally. Go Stanimal!
The kickouts created great looks. Over and over again. Love has got to knock more of those down. There were a few times in the 4th quarter, however, when Lebron gave up what looked to be a point-blank layup in favor of the kickout. I’m fine with the kickout, but when Lebron has already beat his man, he needs to try…
I agree it was a bad possession and a bad shot from Kyrie, but this is what they did the entire 4th quarter. Lebron was gassed, and he deferred to Kyrie. And when Lebron did have the ball, he’d practically get to the rim and kick it out. If Lebron wants that ball, he needs to come get it. He pussed out.
Austin Rivers probably would have been out of the league if his father didn’t give him a second chance, but he’s turned himself into a useful NBA player.
Completely agree. When Fognini is on, it is baffling that he’s not ranked in the top 10.
As an unabashed Federerphile, I always like to see Nadal get upset, especially in a major. Not because I have anything against Nadal, but because that means Roger won’t have to play him. Therefore, one of my favorite matches was watching Fognini blast Rafa off the court at the 2015 US Open.
I’m afraid to try. I think my eyeballs might explode.
I went back and watched the Zaza play again. Yesterday, I was convinced it was dirty. And when you watch it in slow motion, it definitely looks dirty. But when I watched it again at game speed, it didn’t look so bad. He doesn’t stick his foot out in an exaggerated way, like Bowen used to. Instead, he is trying to…
