Yeah it is bad. Who says it's an optional mode? It's a mode in a game that i would be paying for. Stop ducking up to the publishers Jason and stand up for your readers!

If the mode is included in the game, it's not optional and it's not ok. I paid for everything in the game and I expect to not be charged extra. It's artifical barriers that prevent people playing.

Apparently a lot of them are happy with $5 free (Free month of XBL), a free game most of them probably already have on 360, a map that may/may not have already been created for future downloadable content, and some in-game trinkets.

That all sounds good. But, working more often than not isn't exactly a glowing commendation. Getting extra stuff is cool, but it doesn't make the thing I bought work any better.

A large portion of their fanbase already feels torched.

Pro-tip: PLAY ANY OTHER GAME. Honestly, after a couple of months doing the exact same shit on Destiny again, again, and again, playing a different game (no matter what: Sleeping Dogs, Shadow of Mordor, heck even AC: Unity) felt great.

It "should" be adding a lot of new places to explore... but it isn't... it's adding one.

Whiny "pro gamers" have been fucking up Halo since the second game.

Jesus fucking christ. You flipped way the fuck out over one comment. Wowzers.

And further down they complain that the PS4 doesn't have any good exclusive titles coming out this Fall.

Is Kotaku going to do a review of The Crew anytime soon?

Not to mention Genesis and Super Nintendo~

Because Tomb Raider's awesome and Street Fighter's weeaboo bullshit?

So a timed exclusive for XBox is a bigger disappointment than SFV being entirely exclusive to PS4?

Just when we thought we were beginning to leave The Era of the Third-Party Exclusive behind, Microsoft and Square Enix announced that 2015's Rise of the Tomb Raider would be a timed Xbox exclusive. Nice for Xbox fans, but for a big, multi-platform (at this point) series like Tomb Raider to suddenly announce that most
