Jalopnik: Cars these days are too complicated, it’s just more stuff to break!

Isn’t this the sort of thing car enthusiasts have been wanting for decades? A stripped down car that offers only the essentials.

Yes, a low volume car in an already small and crowded segment is just the shot in the arm Nissan needs. Why hasn’t anyone thought of this before?

You are thinking with your heart, not your head. I applaud the sentiment, but Nissan needs a sports car about as much as a fish needs a bicycle.

LOL, Pathfinder old?  It’s only been out for like thre... seven years!?!  Holy shit.

Imagine you run Nissan for a second. You know the whole lineup needs a refresh. What do you focus on first?

By parking the car there after the snow is done falling.

It’s also literally their only data point as to whether the number is big or small, and they took that as “it’s small.”

15% of 1 month, as reported by 1 dealer. That number is flimsier than a 5 foot red bow.

Patrick, without your guidance, Jalopnik wouldn’t be where it is today. You can tell you ran this ship the right way, simply by reputation. Looks like Rick’s doing well for himself after escaping The Walking Dead.

You’re probably good at buying heavily discounted cars that no one is willing to pay sticker for.

“Last year’s best sellers were, disgustingly, trucks, SUVs, and crossovers.”

“I'm shocked!" - two or three people

While all the V8 fanboys have been whining about the Mach-E, people with lives outside of the internet have been making reservations. The “First Edition” is already sold out.

So you’re saying bring back vehicles that sold in small quantities and were considered niche in their day, and are niche now, and Mazda will do better?

That hasn’t been a problem in about a decade and a half.

“Mazda buyers already think of themselves as the smartest people in the room for having gone with Mazda instead of buying a Corolla or Civic”
