Here’s a hot take: The car manufacturers deserve the criticism.

Totally agreed. I really don’t get the hate. I bought manuals exclusively for decades until age and Atlanta traffic changed my mind for me. I bought my first automatic sports car a few years ago and now I’m debating selling my other sports car because it’s a manual. I DD the automatic and drive the manual on weekends.

Every body except actual buyers. If they did the BMW wouldn’t have canceled it.

It depends on the car, I would drive a VW in traffic. Very forgiving clutch makes it easy to drive smoothly. Not so far Honda. Nice shifters but the clutch action is too involved and becomes tiresome.

Fair enough, the side profile and proportions remind me of the Cruze.

Counterpoint: America has not been waiting for this wagon. America, for the most part, does not care about wagons. This is the wagon that approximately 423 car buyers in the united states have been waiting for.

Wut ?

Trolls gonna troll?

One will make it into production in my lifetime, the other...doubtful.

This is what Mercedes thinks of us?

How do you suggest we “increase driving standards”?

I mean it’s my job to cover news. This isn’t just car news you want to see, it’s all car news.

Or for people who just want a smaller, cheaper car!

Like all B segment vehicles related to C segment vehicles.

like the car just for people who can’t afford an equinox.”

I’ll note that at Test Fest, we sampled a pre-production car—hence the camo, more to cover up unsightly development holes and marks than to hide its identity from the good people of Spartanburg, South Carolina.”

I’ll stick with mine but sure, the fifth gen is okay. The problem is, these are not cheap—you can’t touch one for under $30k, and they’re definitely not worth the $70k that some dealers are asking for black wheels and blue paint.
