yeah that’s not cool of the coordinator! her literal job is to guide you through a process that you’ve not been through and she’s been through multiple times. sorry :( you should have a frank talk with her about needing clear and complete information from her.

haha i did the same! shared google spreadsheet with estimated and actual costs, running a tally as we went along in the planning process. I actually am SUPER proud of the fact that our actuals were only 65% of my estimate (which was liberal but not outlandish)! and before you ask, yes I am project manager in my day

thank you for being nearly the only comment on this post about the actual topic - lack of price transparency for wedding services! everyone else is commenting (as usual) about either how expensive stuff is or how brides be crazy for wanting or paying for certain things.

wow, i did NOT realize that character was based on a real person! that is so scary.

yes! thank you - i can’t believe dr nerdlove didn’t address the underlying SURPRISE anger bomb in that sentence.

lol those egg cups with feet are TOOOO CUTE! but i think would disturb me as i thought about the opportunity lost from me boiling the eggs i’m eating...

i recently met a woman who i have come to describe as one of those people who get more upset about animal rights injuries than HUMAN rights violations and abuses and oppressions. i like to describe her as that because it really sums up her whole “i’m so enlightened” holier-than-thou attitude that is actually white

to be fair, that bar is damn expensive large and people probably wanted their $$$’s worth may not have realized what happened. especially as it sounds like the woman ran through the crowd and fell over the hedge.

i’m flying on Singapore Airlines next week from nyc to europe, and i’m SUPER excited for it. i couldn’t figure out how to get like awesome roomy seats in the upper cabin, though, but i’m hoping it’ll still be nice! i hear the meals are not bad, too... :)

pro tip - only use “pro tip” when actually giving a tip that not everyone already knows. most people do this already and it causes huge lines at the gate while the 1-2 gate attendants bag every single roll-on suitcase.

Still, on Porter you get free good snacks (almonds, terra chips, cookies), free drinks INCLUDING alcohol! I just flew Porter from Newark to Toronto for the first time, and you should have seen my American face when I realized the flight attendant just pours you wine, no talk of payment! (or was that because I paid $20

i’m with you, i don’t use youtube for much beyond trailers and the occasional late night show clip. but “kids these days” use it for eeeeverything! smart move by the brand team, really. and smart to revert her to teenager rather than the (mid-20s?) young adult she has typically been. at least that’s the age i remember

hmm, I love Maya Rudolph, but this impression was not great... Rachel comes across as not stupid, actually, and that’s all i was getting from the impression. In fact, Dolezal uses the academic language of race studies (not sure if that’s the best phrasing?) to sound even more like an authority on the subject.

this deoderant scent gives me bad scent memories of 7th grade locker room...

I’m still looking around and have tried many over the years... I’ve tried Secret solid and gel, Tom’s, and Arrid roll-on, both felt like they worked for a week or two but stopped lasting long enough (i.e. they’d wear off by mid-day) or just stopped working well. I’ve even tried just getting a non-scented men’s

haha my own mother has done this to me when i have come down dressed but not jeweled- or made-up enough. it’s an even greater expectation when you are a newlywed - the new bride is supposed to be extra bedazzled for at least a year post-wedding at all events! :)

YAAASSSS, Indian jewelry for the win! i wish i could wear it every day to every thing, but it’s just too much sometimes. especially the 22k gold stuff - in the corporate world, that bold 22k yellow gold sticks out like a sore thumb, and comes across (imho) as immigrant-chic, not extravagant-chic. :( so i save it for

damn girl, your response to JM is much nicer than her retort asked for.

i agree, i didn’t think mungojerrie’s comment was rude at all. she couched it in between praise of what was good, and her 2nd reply was even more gracious to Jane Marie’s defensive retort.

Yeah I’m seeing pretty readily available stuff and basic choices here, with the exception of a couple of the layering choices...
