I recently watched Sorcerer, which uses the same Ravel String Quartet from the opening credits of this film. I listened to this S/T nonstop in high school, & I associate that piece so strongly with Tenenbaums that hearing it in a different context really hit me like a ton of bricks

I guess I would say it's a polarizing (= f*cked up) movie. There's a lot of gory and gruesome stuff … you can read a spoiler example if you don't plan on seeing it:

Well I love Paul Giamatti but I don't want to watch him having kinky S & M sex with his wife. I think the writers are trying to make some sort of statement by being shocking, but it's just gross.

I love Kinney and was psyched when I saw him pop up in Billions, but that show is so revolting I barely made it through 3 episodes
