I just wanna know how many steps down the ladder from the C-Suite you have to go before finding somebody who knew this was a terrible idea. Because *somebody* at Blizzard has to understand 1) that a lot of gamers weren’t going to like this and B) how gamers tend to respond to things they don’t like.

She’s a pro chef and has money, so it may be that this is a refrigerated pantry. It’s not that hard to install/convert a closed space like a pantry or closet into a climate-controlled room. People do it all the time for built-in wine cellars.

The other thing that really annoys me is how the “Women are beautiful without any makeup” guys aren’t referring to all women. They’re referring to women like the one in the picture I posted: generally petite, with delicate features, nice hair and conventional beauty.

This. “I like women who don’t wear make up” usually actually means “I like women who look conventionally perfect without letting on any kind of effort is involved”.

While I assume this was in jest, as a man who has worn makeup for about a decade now, I fully support the idea that all men should try it.
At the very least, after you’ve done a full face with primer, concealer, toner, foundation, blush and finisher; eye primer, shadow, eyeliner, mascara, brow pencil, lip liner, and

THANK YOU. Oh my god I hate this shit. I’m a lesbian and I wear makeup; it’s fun to do makeup and it’s fun to not look exactly the same every single day. It’s not a mask behind which I’m hiding because I’m not confident. There is not a single man in the galaxy that I care to impress

After all make up by definition is a lie.

Do you have any idea how many guys say shit like “I prefer women who don’t wear makeup?” but then have absolutely no idea what “no makeup” actually means or looks like. Basically, what many, many men mean is “I like women who wear understated and natural makeup.” I know so many women, myself included, who routinely

I thought the exact same thing....in 8th grade.

Bleh, sorry Riley, I forgot that I was preaching to the choir here. Get a little riled up with shit like this, as my partner is trans and the past couple days especially have been rough.  Hope nothing in my comment came across as condescending, and if it did, I’m sincerely sorry!

When the stupidity keeps happening though, evetnually you can’t help but start to wonder.

Correction: there was no harm to you, which is why you don’t care.

at what point does it go from unintended incidents to dog whistling?

This totally backfired for me.  My youngest plays Minecraft.  Which is perfectly fine and she enjoys it.  However, she wanted to learn to do more advanced things, so she watches other kids playing Minecraft.  Now when we ask her what she wants to be when she grows up?  “Daddy, I’m gonna be a Youtuber when I grow up!”

Because starting a fight in a tight space like an airplane threatens everyone around you. As cool as movies make it seem very few one punch fights happen. In a tight space like that an elderly woman in the aisle could get her wrists snapped as someone is pushed onto her (which I have seen happen at a family bbq sadly)

A man derailing a woman’s career in STEM so she can help him was played for laughs?

#2 Chris is saying all the right things.

As a woman who has worked in tech, literally NOTHING about a petulant man boy derailing a successful woman’s career because HIS work is more important strikes me as funny.

Say it with me now:

I’m glad it worked out for your kids so well but it’s specious to say that kids who have tantrums about food have unhealthy relationships with food.
