#1 is a case where I wish we had more details. Possibly no one was at fault, but it seems like a bad sign when someone in a long-term relationship is surprised by the breakup.

Nah, you missed my point.
I get enough of this BS at school, and expect this b/c they’re all just immature college boys, but to see this run rampant in a successful company that paints themselves as a progressive organization???
I mean, I know the whole “fight fire with fire” cliche has some merit and I’m not saying any of the behavior presented in the article is OK, but isn’t this the very definition of sexism?
If you think you have a better approach, then do it yourself instead of shitting on someone else expecting them to conform to you
However, when thinking in context about how liberals and conservatives treat people they like, this is one area that I personally feel conservatives have an advantage over us.
I get what you mean, and I’m a little bummed at the number of comments going after her apparent age - she’s talked about how her looks and gender make it hard for her to be taken seriously. But it’s also reasonable that people would look at everything going on with Musk and ask Grimes how she could stay involved with…
Oh yeah, I’m not excusing her behavior. I actually think that’s what makes it so disappointing. She’s shown some awareness of issues in the past but this recent stuff makes it clear that her feminism is of the rich and white variety.
IIRC, she gave a pretty good apology for the bindi.
I would love to sing the song that its worse for PoC,
I appreciate your tone and the way you’re going from your own experience, but the stats and most womens’ anecdotal evidence disagrees. I don’t know the stats for tech or engineering, specifically, but in my field (physics) studies generally report that half of women claim to have faced some kind of sexism. In light of…
When in school, I saw less women in the tech fields - THAT is the problem IMO, its not that the promotion possibilities aren’t there, its that the women aren’t there in a high enough number to fill those positions.
To be fair, you could treat most of these games as if they were more linear - do the main quests, confront the boss at 30 hours instead of 200, and then put the game down. My problem is that I like to save the ending for after I do everything else (which doesn’t happen).
“There is always a risk that a zero-tolerance approach makes martyrs in a community that has shown itself very able to mobilize petty grievances and overwhelm the conversation,”
we can all learn from this conversation.
I’m hoping amnesia because I love ridiculous, dramatic twists and leaving Jane for police work seems too heartless. Plus it obviously didn’t work if Rose knew he was still alive. Idk though, I believed the Rafael = related to Jane red herring that they set up, so no idea what they’ll do next.
Well, they did spend an entire arc praising cheesy telenova tropes. I’d actually feel a little cheated if they set this up just to reveal it was a mask later. As long as it’s not his identical twin haha
We see his actor in the last minute of the latest episode. I’m betting it’s the real Michael with amnesia or something, but it could be a face mask etc.
I agree with the sentiment, but stuff like this seems to be an easy way to advertise support for women without doing anything to actually help them. We’d be better off supporting youth STEM programs and addressing some of the reasons why women drop out of each level of the pipeline. Not that it’s a one or the other…
Exactly. Why are we even entertaining that bullshit? We should be done defending basic rights to be considered human.
