I’m gonna give you the benefit of the doubt that you aren’t a troll. You should look up the term “benevolent sexism” because it describes a specific type of sexism which is still harmful. And if you re-read, it wasn’t referring to the director or her behavior, either.
You’re taking her comment out of context, though. Based on what Jez has reported, it sounds like she’s saying that victims should stay quiet about their harassment and internalize the blame. Talking about how women like Taylor Swift use that form of benevolent sexism as a shield is sort of a different discussion.
That’s an interesting take but I can’t agree with it. Rural Appalachia, for example, has a pretty decent amount of suffering (even if just relative to other Americans) but it’s still full of conservative evangelicals, and then there’s quite a few Christian Democrats.
They think this life is awful, but the next one will be full of rewards for being faithful.
That’s a little confusing. Sounds like they might be trying to advertise to the Kingdom Come type of block while keeping the “not real sexism” defense to avoid alienating other buyers. Either way, I’m not gonna complain about a game being clear with what it’s about.
It felt to me like the show couldn’t figure out the tone it wanted, and Barrymore was trying to do something different than everyone else. I actually really liked the first season, but I hope they’ve got it together more.
Eh, this is a case where I wonder what the ages are. I could totally see a young woman confusing too much dryness with being too big. Obviously she’s not the most well-educated on birth control.
I agree - I feel like the women here (or at least the regulars) definitely appreciate having a female space, so I’m not sure who their audience is.
Generally, you should have good reason before assuming specific groups of people are “biologically disadvantaged.” I’m surprised I have to say this, frankly.
This means that she has the biological privileges afforded to men and that makes her victory less impressive than if she were born a woman
To discount these things as possible causes for the low representation in esports is irresponsible.

She added in a DM that modern fantasy powerhouses like Game of Thrones and Skyrim “are still very much Euro-centric male power fantasies”
are over being completely floored by the fact that breasts exist around the time they hit sixteen or so.
I don’t have any advice, but the situation sounds awful and I really hope your interview goes well. Good luck!
I don’t know what you’re dealing with, but a lot of his advice is aimed at nerds (obviously) who are usually single because they have poor self-esteem or don’t get out enough. If that’s one of your problems, I bet you could improve! I was single into my 20's and felt this ball of dread in my chest whenever I thought…
No problem, but the point I was trying to go for is that a lot of women already feel the need to be be nice to a guy until he goes way too far over the line. Some people who are pushy or worse will take advantage of that and do things that make other people uncomfortable, but not enough to stop what’s going on. So,…
Poison the well? I mean, they aren’t going to refrain from dating or look badly on all men just because pick-up artists exist. But I’d guess around the time they start drinking alcohol. Idk how useful the game will be, but it’s already a good thing just to know these tactics exist. People like to give each other the…
