I think the show is much worse than the books from a feminist perspective. I’m a fan of GRRM’s science fiction, and never noticed sexism in those works. To be fair, I haven’t read much of his superhero stuff though.

It’s a matter of scale. It sounds like this group was in operation much longer than the typical bake sale. Plus, baked goods tend to have less regulations than meats etc. for obvious reasons.

This is super late, but I think you should go for it, if you think it’s mutual and you can handle the consequences of being wrong. In my experience, it’s also better to just come out with it; it can be really easy to fall in the trap of always waiting for the right moment.
