I disagree with you there. A grand is more than most are willing/able to pay to furnish their dorms - this room really suggests to me that their parents paid some of the cost, and that their majors aren’t too stressful, so I can understand some of the “spoiled” comments.

For me, it’s a bit of envy that these women have the combined time and money to make a dorm room look like that.
