Angel and Cordelia had more chemistry than Angel and Buffy ever did.

Was Riley ever interesting?

I get that. But like, Will did want to run away with Hannibal still at the beginning of this season, even after he subjected him to gaslighting and other psychological abuse and tried to murder all of Will's friends (succeeding with Beverly and Abigail, nearly doing so with Jack and Alana). And then a few episodes

I really admire that he draws a line there. Though, I do wonder how he's going to handle the Red Dragon material.

I wonder where she is, actually. I guess she's just chilling in Europe?

"I KNOW. WHEN I'M. AWAKE!"

I was so nervous for her then!

Fishburne really grounds the show. He brings a sense of reality with him that counters the dreamlike atmosphere of Hannibal and frequently allows what happens to hold real weight.

Bite those people!

"Ah, you're dead, Dr. Bloom."
"No, Mason. We all are."

Hm. I don't know, actually. Perhaps she could shed further light on Hannibal's past (not that I think that's absolutely necessary)? I could see her also playing a part in the Red Dragon arc, maybe serving as a means of communication between Hanni and Dolarhyde. I do like the idea of her following Chilton around.

Hannibal promised Alana he would kill her in "Mizumono" if she stayed, never had the chance to follow up this threat, and here he says, "And I always keep my promises, Alana."

I truly hope you're right. If there's one good thing to come out of the show's cancellation, hopefully it's Alana's survival.

Thoughts on this episode:
-Can't stop me from watching this show, NBC! No matter how unfortunate the time slot you move it to.
-Bryan Fuller said something about this being one of the most disturbing episodes they've ever made. So. Looking forward to it.
-"They are identically different." Nice reminder why Jack's an

My favorite thing about these last two is the growth we've seen with Amethyst. Last episode, Season1!Amethyst would have immediately thrown Pearl under the bus for her actions, but Amethyst at present is able to control her emotions and put aside her own jealousy and feelings of inferiority in order to defend and help

Yes that makes sense! And that is a very good question. I guess my best answer would be that I don't entirely know? I think a lot of issues people have with writing women characters come down to the writers portraying them as women first, people second. Not that that's necessarily the case here, but generally

I love your interpretation of the Will/Bedelia interactions. Bedelia's high as hell while Will fusses at her for stealing his man. Gillian Anderson wears smugness so well!

I don't disagree that it was absolutely visually captivating, and forgive me if I came off as crying "sexism!" But see, I think there's definitely a difference between the treatment of men on the show and the treatment of women. As the reviewer said, if there's anything about Hannibal that bothers me, it's the

Ah, I think you're right. Though I'm still mad at him for Beverly and Abigail. I just hope we can eventually get something for Will that's as satisfying as Jack kicking Hannibal's ass last episode.
