Parent here. It has already happened. They already have “lock down” drills (they don’t call them live shooter drills, but that is what they are).

THIS! Someone speaking their truth is NOT the government depriving you of “life, liberty, or property”!! And that thoughtless Katie Roiphe doesn’t know what “due process” is either.

Not “would have hated” - they actually had an acrimonious relationship when Prince was alive. They traded insults, and then JT recorded what was widely regarded as a “diss” track aimed at Prince.

(But I’ll see YOU, at the next meeting, right? Shh, make sure Rolphe doesn’t hear where our secret feminist meetings are held!)

Word. Someone disagreeing with you is not the same as the government persecuting you. How many times do we have to explain to people that “free speech” does NOT mean immunity from criticism?

Agree. I think this is JT trying to have the last word when Prince can’t punch back - which is just tacky. If JT goes through with this, he will just be making himself look like (more of) an asshole.

This makes me want to TROLL their twitter account with links to all the nightmarish things they have done to real, human people.

We are gonna vote SO HARD this year! The entire NC State Legislature has GOT TO GO!

I have wondered that too - why are the white women who voted for Tr^%*p even MORE despised than the white men who voted for T*#@!p? I am not making excuses for the women who voted for him. I mean, ANYONE who voted for him is despicable, and if not actively racist at least a racist-enabler.

North Carolinian here. We have a partisan gerrymandering AND another racial gerrymandering case in play right now (and about a dozen other attacks on elections, and the judiciary that are in litigation.)

If Pink can lose to Ed Sheeran - that by itself proves the grammys are sexist. Res ipsa loquitur & shit.

Word. Plus, we have plenty of *LEGIT* reasons to harsh on Haley and Tr&*p.

Literally, the only reason I clicked on this story is because I want to know why her name is not capitalized. But the story is too long for me to read the whole thing to find out if they say why her name is not capitalized (because lazy, and I don’t care about the rest of this story).

With help from data scientists in NC’s Research Triangle, we grassroots activists have put together a pretty sophisticated plan, and several groups have formed a coalition to work together to “Flip” NC.

I *hope* that folks in “blue” states will help those of us in “purple” states (like my home state of North Carolina) turn it blue! New York and California are both great, but please don’t forget about us who have a hard struggle ahead. We need help - North Carolina is not even classified as a democracy anymore.

When I saw a button with “Women don’t forget” and when I saw it was from VICE - I assumed they meant it like, “Women, don’t forget to make us a sandwich”.

You are right that voting in the mid-terms is vital, but I disagree with the assertion that the Women’s March was “empty symbolism “.

I think anytime someone says, “I am not a racist” . . . they are probably a racist.

Serious question: does this mean you prefer armed groups like that one over non-violent direct action tactics?
