I don’t see how we move forward as a country without bringing the Q crowd back from the edge of the cliff, and I’m all ears for ideas on how to do that.

I’m not so cynical as to believe that everyone who voted for him believes the election was stolen. I’m willing to bet, even, that the vast majority of Trump voters this time around were single-issue voters and will say something like “I hate Trump, but he’s anti-abortion so that’s why I voted for him.”

It took about 0.3 minutes after the election was called for the progressives to start chastising the “establishment Dems” for not championing UBI and Medicare for all and free college tuition and eliminating student loans, etc etc (aka Bernie’s Ten Commandments) bc the race should’ve been a landslide!!!11!

No. State crimes cannot be pardoned by the President. The New York attorney general is already lined up for late January.

Nixon was pardoned before being charged, so I assume it can be for crimes not yet charged.

All he had to do, literally, was tell people to wear masks and pretend to care. He would have won the election. He’s spent his whole life doing as little as possible and whining about not getting enough credit. 

The irony is that if Trump put half the effort he put into actually trying to pull off this out in the open coup, he’d have probably gotten a lid on COVID-19 and legit won his own reelection.

It’s worth noting many people, Trump included didn’t think he’d win the presidency in 2016. And most people were very dismissive of Trump’s fighting of Mueller in the press, and Giuliani’s ridiculous globetrotting, meeting with Russian intel, and cartoonish figures like Lev and Igor, yet it got him the result he…

We really can’t afford to be dismissive of this, the way we were dismissive of Trump’s campaign in 2015. Or how we were dismissive of Trump fighting the Mueller investigation in the press.

We keep marginalizing progressives so as not to upset the so-called “moderates” and “swing voters,” many of whom allow themselves to be fear-mongered into voting for Republicans anyway.
