Yawn. A 16 year old BMW is no more expensive to maintain then a 16 year old car of any other manufacturer. (source, owner of a 16 year old BMW)

You’d have to prove they knew about it before they sold it. If the tape was on it from the auction they bought it from, is it really their fault? They got rooked too then.

its awesome

I think the RAV4 feels extremely downmarket compared to its competitors, notably the Escape and CX-5. If you don’t need the utility and want equal parts crazy styling and luxury, this NX looks like a good bet.

My mom has one of these. I thought I would hate it, but I actually quite like it. It was relatively affordable, is quite nice inside, and even the styling works in a crazy way (it’s certainly creative).

Someone at my office just got a silver one. It is a gorgeous car in person.

I don’t think it’s like their old Saturn story, it’s quite real:

Or a shoe.

I honestly hope they don't. I think Netflix could and would give Clarkson, Hammond, and May the leeway they'd need in order to keep their chemistry, as well as providing them plenty of resources to test cars etc. They don't need the BBC; the BBC needed them.

I can’t begin to count the number of times I’ve heard this, from men and women, young and old: “I’m not into cars, but I love Top Gear.” If it didn’t serve as a gateway drug for cars, it at least helped the normals understand us enthusiasts a little bit.

Identical problem here.

The demise of Top Gear is really hitting our household hard. My weekly Monday night tradition with my 5 year old son is watching Top Gear. It is one of the primary reasons he is so into cars. We will really miss watching the program each week and it is especially hard since there was no warning.

that headline made my day. the boys looking out for eachother. reminds me of my college/highschool days with my good baseball buddies. i hope 2 things happen.

replace Adam by Clarkson

They need to can Adam.

They generate a lot of revenue from airing it in foreign (non-UK) markets. Like, a lot of money.

What am I supposed to be seeing there? That just looks like someone changing gears.

The parts that make up this car necessitate a price tag above and beyond any other Camaro that Chevy currently offers. It also competes with cars that are far above it's price level. But the difference is that the Z/28 has a singularity of focus that far outshines any other mass market production car.

What an awesome era to be a gear head

We really are in the second golden age of cheap horsepower. Sure, $75,000 is nothing to sneeze at, but this kind of performance couldn't be found south of $400,000 a decade ago.
