Yeah, both the US and UK should just switch to litres. At least we're somewhat converted to metric. Imperial units are ridiculous.

I would think that's the main motivator here. It should be cheaper. If anything this might, or perhaps should, become the base model for the Passat.

Possibly, but with the tech in this engine, and the fact it's currently Euro only, I don't expect the BlueMotion to be cheap either.

Question is, with stats that are basically the same as the already available Passat TDI, what is the point of selling a similar, gas powered, MPG-machine? The key might be the fear that is harbored for diesel by a large number of Americans, but hopefully they'd also be willing to trade performance to get that

Have you driven an Evo and STi?

The EVO has also been awful to drive. 20psi of boost to make not even 300hp while the STi made 300+ with less than 14psi. The STi's torque was also much better at low RPM, more driveable...

I was never part of the demographic . . . I prefer RWD, naturally-aspirated cars. But I see far less of the second generation of the STI at cub events than the first (I mean the first available in North America). Something seems to have changed.

If a clapped out Ferrari is worth multiple 100s of thousands, does that mean this insane asking price of $25,000 for a 1963 FrakenVette convertible is reasonable?

Give credit to Mercedes. They, like Cadillac, knew the brand was getting a little too stale and was dominated by older buyers. They took action and the results we got from both companies is stupendous. I would buy this car. Not sure how much it differentiats itself from the CLA, but seeing them in person would

No, the greatest feature of AMG cars is their ability for mechanics to always be able make their monthly boat payment.

Not bedazzled, but I'd like it to be a bit more aggressive. I think it's a testament to the sporty look of the standard E-Class though that you almost can't tell the difference.

I'm European, and I don't understand trucks. Truck Yeah, I'm counting on you to change that ! Bring it on !

As a noted PT Cruiser apologist I want to point out the '01- '02 are probably the worst years for the PT. The motor received some much needed power in later years. Also, there was a factory 'vert that could be had with a turbo. However, you won't be getting into one of those for 4.5 kilobucks.

Dude, hate to break it to you, but that is not a chassis - that's a sheetmetal floorpan with suspension bolted to it. When the car was actually built, that floorpan was welded into the rest of the body as one unit, what you are looking at is not a photograph, it is a cutaway illustration done for informational

Chrome wheels are gaudy

If it's any consolation, anybody will be able to purchase the current-gen C63 (used) for much less due to depreciation.

We had one of the really early Minis. The damn interior literally disintegrated after like 3 years but that car was glorious to drive. Still one of the best handling stock cars I've ever been in.
