The Impala SS is a slug by modern standards. A car that weighs as much as a dump truck with a paltry 260hp, just doesn't cut it anymore. Not to mention it had a suspension borrowed from a stagecoach.

Even a standard spec C63 with the P31 package is the right amount of car. This should be the benchmark for all to follow. In the absence of a C63, a CTS-V will do.

Very grounded to the ground.

Perhaps I'm the only Jalop who hasn't found a taste for the Miata Kool-Aid, but I still think this represents a good value. I'd plonk down $8k cash and tuck it away for another 23 years.

If a car company lacks direction in engineering and/or design, simply reference Mercedes-Benz. They always get it right. Always.

I am waiting for the Hot Wheels Veyron. Has the launch date been announced?

While a few were made, this 6.9 was the only wagon commissioned by Mercedes-Benz

I see what you did there.

This was a product of a very cavalier period for Cadillac, and perhaps GM on the whole.

Econoboxes are generally not driver's cars, and primarily appliances. Adding a manual transmission to a low-end FWD car only serves to make it more annoying and cumbersome. 30 years ago, a 5 spd manual offered a performance and even economic advantage over a 3 spd auto. Those days are over.

Could be.

Trying to prove that a Megane can out accelerate an F1 car to a stop sign?

A VIN check would reveal the dubious identity of this car. I'm almost thinking that people are now posting fake CL ads to try to earn a NPOCP writeup on Jalopnik.

VW Phaeton

There's no such thing as a cheap MB, furthermore there are really no cheap older cars. Having owned a few MBs, they've been wonderful cars to drive and own. So long as you're either a) under warranty or b) willing to turn some wrenches, they are reliable and not significantly more expensive to service than other cars.

Ugh, where to start on everything that's wrong with this car.

I should have underscored the word "real", in my post.

Whenever I see a Biturbo badge, I can't help to think about these moped exhaust pipes that were all the rage in the 1990s

Kingpin was a horrible bowling movie. It was a good Farrelly brothers movie.

The Big Lebowski was not a bowling movie, it was a movie that contained bowling scenes.
