For a moment I thought this was an iPhone picture of a scene from the next season of Fast N Loud.
I wonder if Super Replicas could use this as a donor for something cool like a Ferrari Daytona replica.
Overall, the car was a success. It sold reasonably well and endured for a long time. You're right, while there were minor refreshes during its lifespan, it wasn't a design that could be radically redesigned without losing the essence of what it is.
My only point is that the car receives more abuse than it deserves.
Timing belts are expensive to replace in most FWD cars. Hondas and Acuras will result in a similar bill as well. Is the motor in the PT an interference engine?
The Malibu has many problems that haven't been adequately addressed if they truly want this car to compete in its class. The exterior styling is a mix of meh, ugh and blah. However, that pretty much defines this class of cars. Generally affordable FWD family sedans. The Camry, Accord and Sonata all seem to have more…
When I see this and most Chevrolets I think municipal or rental fleet vehicle. The rental companies don't buy them because they're superior cars loaded with quality and longevity. Those traits would price them out of the market. Instead, milquetoast and adequate are the modus operandi.
The CTS-V can get to 60 in 3.9 seconds, that's only 4.1 seconds faster than the Passat.
It isn't hard to argue that most cars get interesting at their limits. With the bar raised so high for power and handling on modern sports cars, it is likely impossible to reach those thresholds legally on most public roadways. So, I get your point of "extracting performance".
Am I getting old, or just less choosy when it comes to cars? It seems like 3 years ago I would have kicked my own ass for even contemplating the ownership of a domestic brand. Now, I'm planning on adding CTS-V and a Raptor to the stable. Am I insane, or have American cars come that far overnight? Or perhaps were they…
It is hard to know what to make of this car. Its an obscure model that has been modified to within an inch of its identity. There's a market for this car, albeit a small one. There may be a handful of people who yearn for the Ventura that their parents had 40 years ago, however, those same people probably would rather…
@BrtStlnd Fair enough. I'm impressed with that statistic, I wouldn't have assumed the number would be that high. I believe that its historic importance will ensure that it remains a treasure for some time to come.
You're spending $40,000,000. The potential buyers of this car are few and far between. Spending $40,000,000 is no guarantee of future value. While I hope that this doesn't happen, I believe that collector car values may drop off a cliff in the coming decades. While there's historic value to be accounted for, nostalgia…
Patrick George should contact Super Replicas to get an estimate on recreating this on a tubular chassis. I believe the figure will be somewhere around $40k. Big savings from the $40,000,000 price tag of an original.
The PT Cruiser receives far more abuse than it deserves. It is at a point in age where it looks goofy and awkward, it is after all, a teenager now. It was a smart car and a hit at the time it debuted. There were no fatal flaws in the design or engineering. I believe that the PT Cruiser will be looked upon fondly as…
My first thought when I read that headline was also the Ronal Bear. How on Earth did this not make it to number one? Also, I'm wondering if this response will be grayed out like my others. Can anyone tell me why I'm always grayed out?
The answer is RFIDs on the pump nozzles. A non Diesel RFID won't allow the nozzle to be inserted in the filler. Problem solved. Thanks and I'll take my invention money now please.
I just want to know why my responses are always grayed out. Oh, and I have no idea why this program would have ended so badly.
My question is, if being in the new auto dealership business is truly that painful and unprofitable, why does anyone do it? 100 years ago, dealerships were a crucial component of the proliferation of the automobile. They were necessary and vital to the success of promoting the automobile.
These days, Tesla is making a…
If you need to protect your vehicle by using more than one spot, fine. Just do so at the back of the parking lot, where there are an abundance of unused spaces. If this has already been said, I'm glad I'm repeating the point.
