Alright, I've been un-enthused. Has Kamiya explained his gripes yet?

Buy it in DROVES, people.
Hah, while I might not trust Rockstar with much, if anyone they'd be the ones who could successfully integrate a transgendered protagonist into the whole mythos and satire of the GTA universe. They don't give a fuck, and I could see that working with their creative juices.
In a statement to IGN, Capcom revealed the PS2 version's sales to have mostly fallen off at 270000 units. Significant evergreen sales did not happen because of the subsequent release of the seventh generation of consoles, eliminating PS2 shelf space for non-AAA games.
I take it you're looking at the VGchartz sales numbers. Both sales number for Wii and PS2 versions are actually in error since it is listing the cumulative sales of both Wii and PS2, with the Wii listing being the cumulative sales in 2009, and PS2 listing being the cumulative sales in 2011. Strange mistake for them to…
Accusatory? I didn't accuse you of anything besides being "oddly blunt". Everything else was a defensive offence in which I maintained that the Wii version of Okami had an intuitive control scheme, combating what I felt was an overreaction on your part.
Is it a cultural thing? This isn't exactly a topic I should be bumbling around in whilst uninformed or callous.
'Mkay. I still don't understand why he'd think that, but thanks for explaining what he's thinking.
Your reaction was odd in that it was an overreaction. You apparently have the Okami PS2 version, but the Wii control scheme has somehow offended you by its very existence. Judging by the sales figures, most of us like the Wii version more, but your original comment was incredulous that there are those who would like…
Well, even ignoring the law is a form of protest, small though it may be.
How else are you supposed to protest laws you disagree with but by breaking them?
I don't fully understand what you are implying.
Yes, I'm sure censored pornography makes a huge difference on Japan's wonderfully low crime statistics. I'm sure of it.
By no means am I against having variety in optional control schemes. My response was less about defending Okami's Wii controls, but attacking your oddly blunt dismissal of them.
The reason people wanted a Wii port of the game was because of how naturally the idea of aiming the remote to draw brush strokes seemed to meld with the Wii's camera sensor. That is not "tacked on", but a natural fit. "Tacked on" is when a gimmick is added to a product to no clear benefit other than promotion of the…
The game expands on the less important parts of Okami, but it leaves most of the mystery surrounding the celestial plain, Kaguya, and the moon tribe intact. It's still very worth playing if you're a fan of the original.
Motion controls were not tacked on with the Wii. Any complaints there were about the dodge-roll nunchuk motion were the result of the player not paying attention to the motion displayed on-screen.
I loved Okamiden, but a sequel is usually a continuation of the previous game's plot. It's a very good offshoot, but a side story nonetheless.
If someone did get down to making a port, it would be nice to watch prerendered and UI elements at full resolution. Unlike the gameplay, fixed textures aren't enhanced. :/
Okamiden is a portmanteau of "Okami" and "gaiden", which translates to Okami side story from Japanese. While Okamiden was a continuation of Okami's core gameplay, it didn't significantly advance Okami's original plot or expand the brush strokes.
