I remember I wrote a review for his second solo album, 'Fire and Gasoline' for my college paper… "Freedom Fighter" actually got some MTV airplay, and it has a version of the Pistols' "Did You No Wrong" with Axl Rose & Ian Astbury singing on it… I don't remember anything about my review, but some music mag nailed it:

College radio airplay of Thin White Rope's cover of "Yoo Doo Right" turned me on to CAN, so I will be forever in their debt.

So the forthcoming Magnetic Fields album, '50 Song Memoir', due out in March, gets no mention?

May I introduce miss Simka Dahblitz… Not THE Simka Dahblitz…

Gelman is a fine actor, but I never shook the feeling that he was miscast in this… Really liked the show overall though… Not surprised it was canceled but let's be honest, considering its ratings it was a small miracle it even got a second season, we should be grateful for that.

My friends and I watched this when it hit the VHS rental shelves… "Didactic" and "unsubtle" indeed… The standout memory was mimicking the dog treats commercial during the devil doll POV scene: "bacon, bacon, bacon!"

If by "dropping out of" you meant "rendering almost unwatchable"… Actually that's not fair, nobody had a gun to Coppola's head to make him cast his daughter in Ryder's place. Oh, and so far no mention of Tom Waits as Renfield, let's fix that.

Very happy to see 'Let the Right One In' on the list.

It's a weird one… But apart from the heavy-handed "Silent Night/5 o'clock News" it's my favorite S&G album. ASDP and BBGPM are weird but good and fun… The man ain't got no culture!

Been Rolling Stoned and Beatled till I'm blind!

Perhaps… But do you note your place with bookmakers that measure what you've lost?

Now I'm going to ask you, "Are you my mother?"…

I thought he shot him in the face?

That's right, I just said f**k you to the man!

Guess you're not that good, Will Hunting.

Something something "milkshake brings all the boys to…" Oh never mind.

Wow… Thank God someone posted about the Tubes being in this thing… I watched it years ago not knowing they were involved and then BAM: Fee "White Punks On Dope" Waybill singing a (quite good) duet with Olivia… The Aerosmith Sgt. Peppers fiasco did result in their version of "Come Together" which was one of the best

Skate town USA… You had me at Maureen McCormack in hot pants.

Trainwreck of a movie… Catchy title song though.

Actually 'Infinity' (which contains the hits "Wheel In the Sky" and "Lights"), the band's first album with Steve Perry, is pretty damned good 70's AOR. *ducks, tries to shield himself from the volley of rotten produce* No wait, really… Just listen to the thing start to finish, it's got a fair amount of good songs, and
