Anyone who has owned an Android phone can tell you how unintuitive the OS is. The LAST thing we need in a car is an infotainment system by Android. Say what you will about Apple, but they are the masters of simple, intuitive, and user friendly.
If a semi's trying to change lanes in front of you, give him a flash of the high-beams to let him know when it's safe to move over. Depth perception sucks in those mirrors so it takes the guesswork away from the driver.
I never said that cost wasn't a factor at all, but it's not the primary factor. In order to pay money for something, you must have a need for it. While everyone needs a car in certain circumstances, the frequency of those circumstances must be high enough to justify the cost.

I hate how car manufacturers are forcing buyers to buy automatic gearboxes (DCT = two pedals = automatic). I completely understand that emissions regulations must be met, and will happily pay a premium for a manual transmission, so stop taking the option away from me.
