Black Lightning’s studious avoidance of the topic

She was twelve or so, right? So those two years tend to be the MOST dramatic of “look much older” of nearly any two years.

At least the Arrow finale gave us one last time for her to call Sara, “My beloved.”

Is the Star Labs set being used for something else when this was filming, or being massively rebuilt? Because it felt like this episode was deliberately avoiding using that set.

Also when he does the Master Chef Junior he’s super sweet to all the kids.

Not to mention, so many people like that get into “we should run a restaurant” because really they just want a place they can hang out, and often think in a very top-down executive fashion.

Yeah, I think it was they had scripts broken down/written and then found out they were going to need to re-write them, but they did have the time to do it.

I mean, let’s be real, Cisco should have about 4000 patents that keeps them all firmly in the black.

You know those SNL bits where it’s clear the performers are having a great time, and are clearly super into the bit even though it totally doesn’t work, but you kind of dig it because they clearly are having a great time?  That’s how Mona and Gary always felt to me last season.

“Gambi, I was in another dimension, and all the earths were destroyed, and then we all came back in one earth.”

The season finale mentioned a character that was a clear set-up for the antagonist of the second season, and it’s pretty obvious that’s who Bautista is playing.  Frankly, he’s one of the few people out there who COULD play it.

I don’t know if I agree with that entirely, but it definitely full-on commits to This Is The Thing We’re Doing.  I dug it.

I just watched the whole season and found it plenty enjoyable. The first two episode are definitely... deliberate in their pacing. But it’s the sort of well-considered worldbuilding that works really well for me.

THIS is why we accepted Doc Brown as Marty’s best friend without batting an eye.

getting robbed of money that doesn’t equal one bill is somehow proof that you were robbed.

I love how the other cops were all “I mean, it says that, but we found no cat anywhere.  There is a vat of beer that got hacked open, I don’t see how that couldn’t be relevant.”

I would totally be down for a CW version of Sexy Encyclopedia Brown Who Fucks.

No way the dude would lay out without his watch while tanning.

I remember so many solutions were based more on analyzing people using language PRECISELY in ways that people just don’t.  Like, yeah, the typewritten message one works on the presumption that the dying guy would make typos while typing out his dying confession (sure), BUT that his mistake would be a consistent

Yeah.  I’m not sure why we spent time establishing Mike from Breaking Bad as a First Officer who’s gone wacky for two scenes and an unceremonious death.  It was one of those things where a recognizable actor made it odder.
