Yeah, but you usually don’t reach that point of chaste-kiss-goodnight-right-to-sleep domesticity THAT early in the relationship.

I think some people feel obliged to see them to be able to participate in the cultural conversation, and... I say this as someone who loves these movies-- you don’t have to.  You really can just ignore them and do other things.  It’s gonna be OK.

It struck me they were doing the sort of Imposter Syndrome thing of, “Hey, look, we’re lucky idiots, we don’t know how we did this.”  But there’s no surviving a hostile read.

HOW in the NAME OF ANYTHING is there an UNDERGROUND SECRET PEDOPHILE RING OF TRAFFICKED CHILDREN when the sum population of the entire human race is being kept on a tallyboard TO THE PERSON by the President herself— FORMER SCHOOLTEACHER LAURA ROSLIN who surely would have every damn child in the ENTIRE HUMAN RACE

See, I don’t know the full story, but I am convinced there WAS a full story behind Hawkgirl’s marginalization and exit. They seemed to make it a point to give her very little to do, including the minimal engagement in her own plot. It feels like it was the production team had an issue with the actress and felt they

Pulitzers on Earth-38 are literally participation trophies. “Did you write a story? Yes you did. Yes you did! Here’s your Pulitzer!”

I think they’ve always been working with the idea, “Wouldn’t it be cool if we got to do Crisis?”

I thought Flashpoint didn’t effect Earth-2.  Maybe I’m remembering wrong, but I thought when Harry & Jesse first came back after Flashpoint, they recognized that Things Had Changed and remembered the things that only Barry also remembered.

And WAY BACK WHEN on Muscle, which was part of The WB’s original line-up when the network launched.

For at least some time, you could drink at 18 on an army base, because the drinking-age laws were all state laws (and varied from state to state), but the base was federal land, thus not subject to the state law.  But now I think either the drinking age is federal or because it’s 21 for all 50 states, it might as well

It’s the movie I hold up as People’s Exhibit A of WHY YOU DON’T GIVE BURTON CARTE BLANCHE.

The back third of Season Two was just constant RISE, where almost every episode felt like a season finale.

Earth-2 Mick volunteers at libraries to read to kids and teach them about Fire Prevention Safety.

on a show that has often grappled with the issue of whether using deadly force in crime-fighting can ever be moral, having one of your team just blaze away with a semi-automatic is a mixed message to say the least

True. The MCU has been pretty embracing of its Comic Book Origins while still dealing with the practicalities of What Looks Good In Real Life.

I mean, say what you will, but I certainly went into it with Smallville-induced cynicism. If you told me after watching the pilot it would lead to SIX DC-hero series all being on at once with a massive CRISIS ON INFINITE EARTHS crossover event, I would have laughed so hard it would have caused an aneurysm.

The pilot honestly felt like it was a feature film script whittled down to 22 minutes.

Back in the early 2000s, when Star Trek Enterprise was airing, there was a guy on TrekBBS who HATED, HATED, HATED the show. Hated it SO MUCH he would spend six hours every week doing a bittorrent of the freshly-aired episode (since he lived in a country that didn’t air it), so he could watch it right away and yell

I’m always fascinated by the ones that are committed to doing, say, eight episodes, when the angle two of those episodes are taking is REALLY THIN and at best tangential, and thus those episodes are total wastes of time.

PUT IT TO THE TOP OF SAID LIST.
