The Decon Chamber is gratuitous, but at least you can say it’s universally gratuitous.  Over the course of the series the entire cast showed a lot of skin.

Well, it also ties to the fact that the mother KNOWS it’s wrong for her to be using the Arkangel again, so she decides she can’t confront the daughter with what she’s learned, because that would mean admitting what she did.  

Time isn’t fixed in the MCU.  Look at the climax of Doctor Strange.
