I’m still not over that Messi first touch. For him to do that in stride, with his thigh, going with the ball... You couldn’t catch it in your hands and lay it out in front of you any better.

Chef: MY MOM

+, uh, 1

Thanks for Xplaining what was going on.

Wow. That’s some heavy shit. I wish I’d known about this before the match. When Shaqiri scored and stripped his jersey off, I thought only of the announcers I’d heard during Stoke matches giving him stick for being a selfish player. This explains a HELL of a lot. Responding to fans who are mocking you with t-shirts of

Boateng’s red was a blessing in disguise because it forced some variety into their attack. Boateng was leading every charge into the Swedish half which is...not ideal.

I think you are making an argument for Messi as MVP, not captain, and I agree with you. Everybody has their own preference, but I love a leader who is vocal, leads by example and brings enthusiasm. I’ve always been Messi > Ronaldo, but damn... at least in this competition, the choice was crystal clear.

If the 2014 Portugal team was better than the current one, that’s only a testament to how poor this Portugal team is. Their second best player in 2014 was Nani. They were also in the group of death and were only eliminated because they were thumped in their opening match by the eventual champs, with Pepe being sent

And Ever Banega would slot in as a deep lying playmaker for all but maybe 3 teams at the World Cup.

The way it was reported as “pretty much” a “broken hand” by one and a “significant” “hand injury” by another makes me question if this is an actual fracture and if so of which bone.

“He .... has been wearing a soft cast.”

Why are we pretending they weren’t just down 3-2 to the Rockets? The Finals was ALWAYS going to be bad because the East is bad.

My one (big) problem with this attitude is that it belittles how thrilling this season was. Houston’s ascent, Utah’s development, Boston’s development, there is a ton of talent in the league. And this year’s finals was about as exciting as... every finals in the early aughts! Are we really lamenting the loss of

Javale McGee - 2x NBA Champ.

If his ankle is that bad, he should sit for game 4. He doesn’t need to do any long-term damage to it, and it’d be hysterical to hear the announcers try to rip on him for being injured while also making excuses for the shambling corpse that is the Cavs without LeBron.

It’s amazing to me that a team that won 73 games not that long ago actually needs Durant to win more titles. I watched this thinking that Lebron’s crap Cavs would easily win this series if Durant wasn’t in it. But Durant was in it. And he was fucking awesome on offense and played great on ball and help defense.

The Israeli’s are damned if they do and damned if the don’t. They don’t exactly have a very good track record of being treated well by neighbors that hate them so it’s a little tough to relax their guard.
