My apologies, the first part of my comment was just a setup for the joke about the Swiss flag. I don’t have anything against Albania or its flag.
Sadly, the Albanian flag’s symbol is the double eagle, which can be considered provocative. Why didn’t Shaqiri just stick with the Swiss symbol? That one is much more positive...
LeBron put up pretty good numbers, but it’s clear that he was hobbled (relatively) throughout the second half. For Chrissakes, he was dishing out the ball while posting up on Steph Curry 10 feet from the hoop. Ultimately, that’s the reason the Cavs couldn’t capitalize tonight.
Man, you did a solid job, today, Chris. I hope Deadspin gives you your due for covering all of MDW like this.
He played a couple of minutes during Game 3 at the end. He did well, but GS was already clearly winning.
Scorching hot take I will instantly regret: JaVale McGee should get some minutes going forward. Rockets played great defense in the 4th by being aggressive on the perimeter and having a fresh, tall set of legs on the baseline can help neutralize that.

This play would make the highlight reel in fake-handball (shown above) because fake-handball is stupid.
You will see more acrobatic plays on any given court in Queens if they are playing real-handball (like paddle-ball but with bare hands instead of paddles)
I wonder if this is the most messed up thing I’ve ever seen. Like, sure, I’ve seen awful things on the Internet, but most of that is ultimately trolling or idiocy or otherwise dont deserve attention. But this? this is messed up and DEMAND an answer.
Anyway, here’s your star.
Yeah I’m inclined to agree with this. Also, Jones is committed to defending FOOTBAW, which is completely understandable for someone who spent decades building it. Goodell is badly pandering to the NFL’s critics while leaving its biggest supporters in the cold, and that probably annoys Jones to no end.
“Like if you were doing something wrong, like on the phone in the hallway walking by”
...wait, what?
I don’t think he’s really mad at Tony... just some trash talking for the sake of ratings. And it worked!
I think the owners realized that people who left because of the kneeling are already lost viewers and now fighting NFL players over this issue would alienate a whole NEW batch of viewers. I don’t think this has anything to do with the clout of the players themselves.
Counterpoint: It’s a fine joke. Hollywood was making light of it when it was ACTUALLY HAPPENING, so why not joke about the fact that he’s finally getting what’s coming to him?
Jets fan here. If the controversy results in this awful rule getting changed, then it’s worth the loss. Hell, I’m just proud that a Jets team that was supposed to go winless gave the Pats a run for their money.
My analogy is correct: in both cases, a player successfully positions the ball in such a way that it is hard for the opposing team to score, and the opposing team scores anyway.
You’re debating how we should MEASURE that success. For a punter, we agree the placement of the ball itself is a measure of success. But…
If a punter puts the ball on the 2-yard sideline, and the returning team brings it in for a touchdown, did the punter fail to do his job?
Brooks’ postulates, arguments, and conclusions are all bullshit, so of COURSE Communists want to follow this train of thought...
“Listen, the O-line is their Achilles heel, and now the Sword of Damocles is over their heads. They’re on par with the Titans, and their defense are in a Sisyphean nightmare. So don’t open Pandora’s box with all this ancient Greek shit, OK?”
