Electric cars are currently 95% the domain of the rich. It’s entirely understandable to be upset that on top of buying a luxury item, getting rewarded with premium parking for that item.
Someone did this in Jacksonville to the charging stations that are actually used by the Tesla dealership to charge their test drive cars.
“If a Tesla driver in the city of Phoenix can’t make my lunch break without needing a charge, they shouldn’t own an EV.”
A parking lot is not a public area, It’s a private transaction where Tesla paid the property owner to reserve those slots. Why are you involving government and laws when it’s a private transaction.
I honked at a bro-truck bastard when he ran a stop sign and then stopped in my lane because of on-coming traffic. He immediately started screaming about how I was lucky his gun wasn’t on him. I don’t think a shooting because their precious truck was made a mockery of by an EV is too difficult to imagine.
Meh. I’ve pushed a car out from in front of my driveway more than once. I don’t have the option of being late to work.
I certainly won’t blame a Tesla owner for pulling a truck out of the spot they shouldn’t be in. If this incites violence, that is not the fault of any action taken by the Tesla driver.
Oh yeah?
When are people just going to come out and say that gun carriers are just the biggest pussies on the block.
Sorry if this isn’t PC, but it is designed to reach those bro tucker faggots and get them to realize that everybody knows they are huge bitches who only act like their dicks are not tiny because they realize they…
Pretty sure there are Wyoming plates on that Tesla, likely he has a gun...
but many of them wouldn’t have a clue what to do if actually confronted.
The bro-truck persona and everything related to it is truly the pinnacle of American stupidity.
Chill out, this will NEVER happen. There’ll be fisticuffs, knives or gunfire before some truck-bro let’s somebody attach a tow strap to their truck.
Me too and I’ve met plenty. You probably just hung out with decent folks where I spent time with meth cooks, biker gangs and convicts. It’s probably actually less likely to happen than my experiences would lead me to believe and more likely than yours would lead you. Really without numbers they're both anecdotal. What…
No. The whole thing about a Tesla is that it should be as free from range anxiety as possible thanks to its supercharger network. People pay to access that network, you don’t, no matter how short amount of time you park there. It’s not your spot. In fact, in some states, I believe the law supports my line of reasoning.
But how can you be assured that some day you won’t stop a Tesla from being able to charge? It’s practically the equivalent of parking in front of a gas pump and not using it.
Towing the trucks out of the way does seem to be too aggressive...so go passive-aggressive and just cut their valve stems off; then they get to arrange for the towing in a nice and safe manner on their own.
Are you one of these pickup owners? Because that’s a really silly comment to make considering it’s the ones blocking the charging stations that are clearly insecure...
I would think that Subaru, with its build-in coastal cachet/high Tesla customer base crossover and moribund powertrain tech would be a particularly fitting partner.
Tesda! Subala! Tesbie! Mazla!
Whatever you call it, can we have popup headlights?
PS. Jason once again I love your thinking.. great ideas; keep em coming!
