That’s demonstrably not true. The republicans have relentlessly smeared Hillary Clinton for 25 years. Which other presidential candidate were you thinking of that’s been the target of a similar campaign for a similar length of time?

But in comparison, we’re not exactly talking about life-long Democrats who’ve spent the last 25 years in the media spotlight and making connections to conceivably win one of the most powerful seats in the world.

Distance herself in what way? She’s not a former high-ranking employee distancing herself from her employer. Is it assumed that everyone who accepts money for speaking to a given entity automatically agrees with said entity, behavioral practices, and mission statement in their entirety?
