McKinnon’s PhD and book are about “norms of assertion” and that it’s okay not only to not tell the truth, but to baldly lie to win an argument. Both are easily googled. No one should trust her word on anything.

You touched on a good point here. There’s a general feeling, in competitive women’s sports, that men who’ve competed at any sort of professional level, should not be allowed to compete in women’s sports at all should they transition. At that point the men simply have too many training and development advantages.

Diana makes that clear in paragraph six, “Nobody demonstrates this better than ....”

Any idea what might have gone wrong for the defendant with this case?

Congratulations, you have no sense of humor.

Do coaches not do any parenting? I’d always assumed that was part of their job, to talk to these guys whose social/emotional development may have been neglected due to the focus on their athletic prowess.

The amount of willful denial and apologia on the part of Stewart fans combined with the naivete about how the world works — the comedy world, the journalism world, the effing adult world — makes these discussions incredibly painful.

Another accuser came forward yesterday. She said he assaulted her 14 years ago when she was 16. He was addressing a group of intelligence agents, including her father. Tell me more about dementia...

Men always want to give men the benefit of the doubt. That’s part of the problem. Btw, did you see another accuser spoke up yesterday? She said Bush assaulted her 14 years ago, when she was 16 and he was 79.

Another accuser emerged yesterday. She said Bush groped her 14 years ago when he was 79 and she was 16. He was not in a wheelchair then. He was speaking to intelligence agents, including her father. Same ass squeeze.

There has never been any suggestion in the media that Bush Sr. has dementia. This is the figment of Deadspinners’ imaginations, men who cannot imagine 92 and not senile. Bush has vascular parkinsonism, as distinguished from Parkinson’s. He’s used a motorized scooter since breaking a vertebra in 2015. He had a bad bout

He’s telling a joke about about groping at the very moment he’s physically groping a young woman.

Why, that’s daily reality stuff, not headlines! (Mocking myself here for a moment.) Of course you’re right. The worst part is how ugly it can get — how ugly human beings can get.

Binding arbitration doesn’t seem to be any good, but let’s be real: Legal proceedings are terrible at protecting the rights of the victim when it comes to DV and sex crimes. It’s just not worth the trauma of a trial. (Hell, DV cases don’t even go to trial the first or second go round. Even Ray Rice got diversion.)

Because there aren’t enough naked women on Westworld.

Iirc, Dvora’s a former gymnast. Which probably makes her sensitive to the way people, usually men, dismiss women’s gymnastics and figure skating as not real sports.

You say gullible, I say dumb and/or malicious :)

This is actually a Baylor-is-evil joke.

Ok, I guess? Glad summer’s almost here, even though that means grass pollen season. Winter was brutal this year. A little bored, which I hate to admit. Looking for some beach-book (light) type reading. How are you? How’s life?

I can’t believe these fucks would put football over people’s lives.
