It’s absurd that we’re giving people rich enough to afford a new car $7,500 of taxpayer money towards the purchase of an electric vehicle. What’s even more absurd is that they have banned the sale of incandescent light bulbs and have set new energy standards for appliances. No wonder people hate our government so

I predict EV sales will hit an all-time high, but production will outpace demand leaving excessively high inventories to be discounted by manufacturers.

Too bad Jalopnik didn’t actually tell anyone how these predictions fared. Some facts presented would’ve been nice. Perhaps they should have named the article, “This is what your 2023 automotive predictions were”.

EV’s are a business, and businesses have to make production decisions based on supply and demand. It is no wonder that Ford cut their production because the demand just isn’t there. Yet.

It’s not often I’ll vote yes on a used German car, but that looks like a good deal to me. Nice Price.

Making the decision to replace my wiper blades this year or not. On the one hand, it’s unlikely that I’ll need to drive in the rain, I can just wait a few hours for it to stop. On the other hand, I know the blades are glued to the windshield from the relentless desert heat, so they definitely need to be replaced.

The dealers are right. In my opinion there should be no mandates for EV’s at all, nor should there be any subsidies. Maybe we’ll get a president with more common sense. I can see myself in a BEV someday, not because the government says I have to, but because the technology is simply better and cheaper. Let the people

I sure do miss those wings on front windows, great way to direct outside air.

So true, I’m hoping they can bring the costs down soon.

That’s an ugly political statement. I can’t believe it got Jalopnik’s censors.

It’s still a Dodge, from the last century! I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. ND all the way.

Just a decent paint job and new vinyl roof would cost $6,000. Nice price for someone who likes that style of car. Not for me though.

I don’t know who thought this was a good idea. Kids will have a lot of fun just tipping them over. I predict a fail for this type of business.

Getting ready for an unusual summer event; rain. Hurricane Hilary is going to bring some wet weather to the deserts of Southern California. Yay!

Wishful thinking, but how about eliminating the 20th century relic called the check engine light? The computer should be able to warn you exactly what’s wrong, no need to plug in to OBD with a scanner, get the code, look up what it means, and then figure out how to fix it.

Why not Chinese brands? I remember my dad complaining about the cheaply made Japanese cars (who would ever want a Toyota?), later the Koreans came in with their cheap Kia’s and Hyundai’s (?). There aren’t many low-cost cars it the US anymore, the market is waiting.

Morning Shift all in one post, thanks for putting it back the right way.

That interior is just too damn ugly. ND

That’s it on The Morning Shift? Did Owen get lazy, or is the rest to come?

Price, price, price
