Sorry guy. Sure, we’ll die off soon enough, but there still won’t be enough supply. Us boomers have always been ones to say “sure, you can build affordable housing, but not here”. We can’t go to a smaller house because we said no to building smaller homes for decades.

My feelings exactly. And we need to make sure all these rich people buying EV’s pay their fair share in road taxes too.

Normally, I would say no dice to such an old vehicle. But if you need a clean daily driver family car, then this is the one. Nice Price

Now that you mention it, I can’t unsee that.

The EV tax credit is ludicrous, giving rich people money to buy cars, then exempting them from paying anything to finance transportation (like gas taxes).

Besides the cost and being a homeowner, I just don’t have the solar capacity to charge the car. It would take $30,000 dollars to upgrade the system, or $200,000 to bring grid electrical power to my house.

Toyota is not an anti EV company at this point. It is, and always has been, a profitable automaker which makes reliable cars that people want. You can bet that when EV’s become mainstream Toyota will be a significant player.

I don’t see why anyone would buy a car that ugly. No dice.

Chrysler, Mitsubishi, Lincoln. In the US anyway.

Would like to see less political comments. You are an automotive site, stick to automobiles.

Well said. Thank you.

Gonna miss you guys. Looking forward to whatever it is.

Some of us old people like to say “they don’t build them like they used to”, to which I say “thank goodness they don’t”. It was crap then and still is now. No dice at any price.

That was well said. Thanks.

He should talk to Hillary, I’m sure she could help.

No, he’s saving the Democrat party

What’s up with that? 1st gear- inflation, 2nd gear- mining, 3rd gear- leftwing president in Chile, 4th gear complaint about EV tax credit not getting done, 5th gear Elon Musk taxes, and then neutral talk about strikes. The editors need to remind Mr. Orlove that Jalopnik is an automotive site, not a news commentary

That sort of diatribe doesn’t belong on a car site. Go to a political site if you want to express politics.

What does that mean to be fasley accused?

Up to a 12,500 dollar tax credit so wealthy people can buy an EV? I’m not in favor of that at all. One- EV’s can now stand on their own without a subsidy. Two- your credit is less if you don’t pay 12,500 in taxes, making this more of a tax break for the wealthy. Maybe the money would better spent offering the working
