Boulder Canyon to P2P is one of them for sure!

Utah has a crazy range of terrain types, great place to drive. I mean, also Moab.

I must have missed the ask, Colorado has some of the most epic and scenic mountain drives in the world, not just North America.

If only used RVs weren’t still stupidly priced. I think everyone who camps graduates from tents at some point other than situations where you can only tent camp, and by then you are using all the proper gear with so it isn’t a comfort nightmare.

My Mom had one of these for years, the cvt was annoying but it still scooted if you punched it with a bit o’lag. The backseats were particularly cramped, but still a fun little car.

I invested all of a minute of searching, so “my ass” counts as the answer.

BMW didn’t start that coupe crossover thing, but they sure as hell kept it alive. I think there was even an article about this thing on here at some point, the Acura ZDX from 2013.

Welcome, keep the spirit alive. The comments section has become increasingly negative and shitty, just ignore us.

Good article, and all this track day info is useful.

300k mile commemorative trip to Moab to retire the Montero from daily driving, hands down. Ended up marrying that lady too.

It was a shame it was so poorly executed that even when you got the hang of the controls other jank got in the way of fully enjoying it.

I have a 4 door liftback, and the cago space combined with ease of just flapping hte back seats down and having enough room for a large dresser or asston of camping gear is nice.

I’ve got a first gen Montero, can confirm the greenhouse is like a safari vehicle.

Another recent gen Jeep would manual pop out of first, more than enough to be problematic for a friend who owned one.

It is an asspain, but this is the correct course of action, and pretty much the only one.

It punches below its weight class with xDrive, but it still weighs 4200 lbs. I am waiting on the “one step up” Bilstein B6 shocks and struts, the electronic damper control ones are backordered about 3-4 months. I ordered in February, and hoping to get them early next month which should stiffen things up a bit in sport

That would all seem to be low or lack of oil, I was talking about the camshaft being partially or fully submerged causing the oil to foam/bubble and lose lubrication properties. I’ve considered dumping an extra half a quart in on my old Montero but always just got it to level even if that lead to a leaky half quart

I live 5 minutes from the base of 3 proper mountain canyon roads, they suck on the weekends, but weeknights at sunset... Always proper.

I had always wondered what problems too much oil could cause, interesting answer here but makes sense.

Even if you have been camping in an RV for decades, you are still learning tricks and lessons the hard way every season. It is a rewarding PITA, but a pain no less. Sucks you had to crash course a big one and deal with less than decent service.
