I don't think he's necessarily regressed so much as he's struggled to find a way to say something new. Plateaued? I guess he's plateaued? I still think the first half of 'Funny People' is the best work he's done. Unfortunately, he also directed the second half of that movie, which essentially blew up a nuanced film

Eh, we're 32 seasons in, might as well just throw a bag of snakes into camp and release a shark.

Fair points on Kelley, fair points. On the wider level, I guess I'm just somewhat mystified as to why she draws such strong support as a potential winner 'round these parts. She's almost never seen influencing votes—Spencer, on the other hand, gets a very good edit on that front—and she got that second idol by pure

I don't think either Jeremy or Kelley can make a real argument based around their immunity idol plays. Kelley's saved her when she was on the bottom with Ciera and Abi, but it did nothing to change the complexion of the game. Ciera and Abi were both still subsequently voted out. The idol extended Kelley's game,

I think Spencer wins if he gets to the end. He has the challenge victories on his resume—doesn't he have as many as Joe at this point?—he was on the bottom for most of the first half of the game and he can argue that he forged an alliance from nothing midway through. Also (if I'm remembering right), he's been

That's true the first time, but if you've already banked millions of dollars to play a Norse God Superhero in four previous movies, you would be far, far less persuadable.

When I read the book, he always looked like departed Raiders owner Al Davis in my mind.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing the commentariat asking for more book book reviews represents a vocal minority.

See, my whole thing is that I couldn't care less about the cultural saturation. The actual product is all that matters to me. Like if a million people think 'Star Wars' is the greatest movie ever, and I merely think it's an enjoyable space adventure, my experience with the movie isn't changing. I'm not going to

I like enough of these actors that I'll enjoy this movie even if the thing's the mess that it's bound to be.

That they showed so little of the barbecue—we didn't even get to see Kelley tell Dale that she's a HI magnet—bodes poorly for the contestants at that barbecue.

My favorite part of the reward challenge was how he opened with a minute long monologue about how they weren't going to see their loved ones.

We're getting Keith in the right doses. He's not going to carry a season, but he's good fun to just have along for the ride.

If Joe was going to be trying to sway people, Abi was always a bad target. Kelley, on the other hand, would have been a great target. Big strategic game, very good at challenges. You could easily make an argument that Kelley wins if she gets to the end.

Agree, Spencer's the dark horse. He's capable of winning any challenge, he's managed to move from "easy target" to "barely existing on radars," and his season has been edited as Spencer Learns a Lesson since the second episode. He fits their theme perfectly.

Watching Spencer is like watching Frankenstein's monster discover the world. It's a beautiful thing we're seeing.

If he tossed himself a third-place finish in a challenge now and then, rather than forcing himself as close to death as possible, it would have stopped the narrative of "Joe's going to win every challenge." Winning three straight after the merge is a bad idea. If he just lost the first two, people would not be viewing

The Big Red No belongs to the people.

Joe was out of control in the first episode. He single-handedly killed three people in the reward challenge and then told the camp to go fuck itself.

Julia was more or less normal, though. Matt's bang-bang-bang like Arthur, while Alex has the personality of a perpetually stoned human.
