Disagree. I think it's more likely that behind closed doors, they're saying, "It's a pretty middling movie, but if we give it a C+, the hate mail is just going to be insufferable." Everything about the actual review screams "eh."

The actual content of the review reads like a C+, but I'm guessing he didn't want anybody lighting his car on fire. So B- it is!
Conspiracy theory: Dowd really really hates this movie and is pushing an agenda of over-Newswiring of 'Avengers' articles on the writers, in order to cause the sheeple of this site to start rolling their eyes by midweek, subtly planting a negative connotation with the film. I'm on to you here, Dowd.
Ah the silly things studies waste their time on. It's not that Twitter users see more movies than non-Twitter users. It's that heavy Internet users see more movies than non-heavy Internet users. Everything falls under the same large umbrella here.
I'll see it relatively early in its run, I'm sure (the middle of next week, maybe?), but just skimming Rotten Tomatoes, I'm toning down my expectations. The good reviews are still very good, but the more negative ones tend to be pointing out things I'm already weary about with these movies. Lowered expectations are…
Favorite moment of the episode was relatively small, but I could not stop laughing when "Every Breath You Take" started to play. There was something about the sudden timing right as they were trying to change it that cracked me up. Last week's episode has been the best of the season so far (all relative, of course),…
Good luck, though it sounds like you are on your way and do not need my wishes of luck. I've been meaning to read 'Infinite Jest' for six or seven years now. Eventually, it will happen?
'Blood Meridian' is a trip, that's for sure. I generally prefer my Cormac a little more concise and precise, which is why my favorites would probably be 'The Road' and 'No Country,' two books that are very grounded in reality (even if 'The Road''s reality is that of apocalyptic wasteland), but I tip my hat to 'Blood…
I like to mix it up. I generally go two nonfiction titles for every one fiction title, sometimes flipping the ratio. I definitely have periods where I fade off of nonfiction more, just because my brain refuses to commit, but I like to have some balance to my reading plate.
I absolutely loved 'NOS4A2.' Very satisfying reading experience and I found the ending to be unexpectedly emotional. I will be fascinated to see how Hill's career moves forward.
Currently working my way through Daniel Kahneman's 'Thinking Fast and Slow.' The human mind is incredibly bizarre.
Michael's DD bets were pathetic.
That was one of the most awkward TC edit jumps ever.
It's crazy to think that Will might have hidden away part of his advantage. Nobody would ever do that in this game.
I don't think she gets Tyler, because he and Carolyn are each other's puppets and Carolyn hates Shirin. I think she would get Sierra's vote there, though. Unless Sierra's robotic functions rebooted after Dan and Rodney said those awful things to her and she no longer has any memory of that. It's possible that the…
I don't even understand how Will gets to that point. I know they're all hungry and tired and weak, but at what point does "Nobody loves you and you have no soul" cross your mind in an argument? And then not to back off of it a day later, when the same person is both crying AND going into detail about childhood abuse?
One idea that's been batted around here before is rather than just having HII's, having a variety of different power-ups. Like say one person gets a clue to a HII, the next clue is for an individual immunity challenge advantage, the next is for a box of food, one for extra votes, etc. I'm surprised they haven't done…
The best thing about it was that there was a pregnant pause before she raised her hand.
Jeff does love his bros, but I don't think he would have hyped this season up as much as he did if everything post-merge is basically one big alliance knocking out a smaller one.
I'm surprised (or not surprised?) that they thought he was hoarding food. My initial thought would have been, "He's hiding an idol/idol clue."
