That Benz is stinking awesome and that picture is killer. When I got my license, my dad had just rebuilt a totaled 1971 C250 and I used to drive it to work and school. I loved that car, and the inline 6 seemed to be pretty quick. I always wanted to get another one and make it into a road race one. Thanks for posting

Huh? Why? People have been modding cheap cars for more horsepower since there were cheap cars so not sure I get your point.

Great article, really enjoyed it. I think I breathed a sigh of relief when you said you sold it right after you got it right. My 2004 545i is an endless string of CEL’s that are driving me crazy and as soon as everything clears, it’s gone, Lord willing.

People are idiots/insane/_____ (insert your own correct derogatory term here).

Excellent article, well done.

I really, really like that widebody look for some reason. Maybe because of growing up in the 70's; the IMSA look was popular and the wide body Vettes and Monzas looked awesome on the track, not to mention the early IROC Camaros with the wide flares as well. I’d consider one of these if I were in the market, but agree

No problem, and thanks for bringing us these interesting articles David. Loved the BMW-hoarder story as well.

And just as an aside, I also have a 1968 Camaro with a little story behind it that will be my 6 year olds car when I pass on. Again, great job on the article.

That was a really great read, thanks for writing it. Can’t imagine Steven’s pain through all of those losses and his relationship with his dad. I lost mine about 17 years ago (and today is his birthday actually, as he would have been 85 today) and I still think of him daily. He was a good man, certainly not perfect by

I think people put up with RR unreliability due to exactly what you’re saying, they’re status symbols, and they’re luxurious. Even DeMuro said he loves his despite all of the issues he’s had (which is no surprise since it’s getting a little long in the tooth). I realize all of the trouble that comes with owning one,

Seriously, you can’t even slow down to look at the wild animal now? Gimme a break. They barely stopped. And for heaven’s sake, when will this phone camera vertical videoing stop? That’s the real crime here.

Agreed, but the latest rat rods are engineered much better than the old ones, and are actually far more planned and better executed and mostly just look like they’re made up of junk with real rust.

Saw a Sera last weekend at a cruise in south Ohio, which was kind of strange. The doors and the car in general is pretty crazy. It was parked behind a 1989 Skyline. The things you see, lol.

Quite a few excellent posts; we must be of similar mindsets (and age - 50 here).

Where’s the drool button?

But it is their responsibility to follow the laws, just like it’s all of ours.

Lots of white male hate in this group. Not sure why that is. Jealousy? As I’ve stated, I don’t even like Trump in the least, so I get at least some of the bitterness. One other question: Were you all kvetching about Clinton when he was $crewing around with 19 yo interns? Just curious.

OK, we get it; you don’t like Trump. Heck, I don’t even like the guy, but enough is enough. Y’all need to find something else to complain about, at least something of some substance.

Eh, 5 Series with V8's have had 300+ HP for several years and you don’t see that being an issue with more accidents than normal. Plus, the average person doesn’t buy the high-hp version of nearly any vehicle so there’s that as well. There should be suspension upgrades to help handling whenever the 300 HP variant is
