Yes, the police are at fault here.

I would disagree with those people ;)

Good timing...this was on ‘My Classic Car’ this past weekend, along with Leno’s ‘Jet Car’, which they actually took for a (really loud) ride. I always thought this looked like a less pointy Thunderbird (64-66 model) and it turns out that the same guy designed both (according to Leno). Cool stuff.

That demolition video brought tears and now I want to die. These cars are so cool and also sparked my appreciation for the designs of Elwood Engel.

Most of the original 50 were given to families all over the country to try out, then had to be returned and destroyed. One of the families lived in my parents’ neighborhood.

“..destructive exhaust heat...” Why does everyone insist on pushing this myth? If you read Steve’s excellent book or watch the Jay Leno video, you’ll see that Chrysler solved the turbine exhaust heat problem with its regenerator system. (https://libwww.freelibrary.org/digital/item/39712 )

They were like fully functioning show cars.
I built the 1/25th scale model back in the day.

You want to see Chrysler’s turbine car actually racing:

The interior looks like what a 1963 Pagani would be, which is probably why this thing will go for 2021 Pagani money.

Sigh. I have had white friends gunned down by civilians in major cities, but never by the police. So I probably have some implicit bias. But, as I said, any death is tragic. I taught in inner city areas, trying to give tools to kids so they could do what they wanted with their lives, not what someone else told them to

Agreed. Not really sure what their USP is anymore. That they’re not German?

It’s almost as if the Pathfinder clone (QX60) having a name one letter different from the sports coupe (Q60) is confusing to consumers!

Oooh, I see a Cosmos Purple hiding back there!

Zeta replaced the platform in its entirety so it’d make no economic sense to build two vastly different cars on the same line. Anyway, care to join to join me in a cry over the fact we didn’t get this?

Bangle was head of design when the E46 was being developed, but the exterior design was done by Erik Goplen

Hi, I live in not-urban place. I also travel to other not-urban places. If I have to pull over every 125 miles to fill-up, even it it takes me 5 minutes, it’s going to be a long drive wherever I go. 150 miles one way is something of a quick overnight trip. 300 miles one way is a weekend.

I think the Genesis looks better, at the very least. I’ve always found the Bentayga to be pretty hideous (though the facelift is definitely helping it out), while the Genesis is one of the best looking SUVs to come out lately. Big props to them for making a distinct looking design language in a sea of similar-looking

ME: Why don’t I have any cool cars like that?
