Snuze: Needs another Swede

I saw one of these being towed through McLean last week on a trailer.

Oh, now a new Karmann Ghia, that I could get behind. I have always wanted one of those cars.

Shh... you might give Dartz ideas for their debut American ad campaign. Imagine seeing all those fishing boats netting the male whales.

Ok, now you are talking. I thought maybe we had a misunderstanding but it sounds like we are on the same page. I wasn't trying to imply that we have to go back to an aircooled flintstone mobile. But there are some nice liquid cooled, emissions compliant flat 4's from Subaru, so there's no reason VW couldn't do the

Amen.

I don't know how much they would though... VW = 4 cylinder but fun economy car, Porsche = 6 cylinder because racecar.

It's also cheaper and more efficient to make lame-ass econoboxes.

You're still doing it wrong!

No burning sensations... but I do have this funny rash...

I believe so. I just find gearboxes with more than 6 speeds to be silly.

And everyone on here freaked about the new Porsche 7 speed and what it's shift pattern would be...

Concept Car Hell?

Sorry for the confusion, I know there is a difference between slicks and radials but I was kind of careless with my wording. I also brought up in a different post the issue of driver skill. Makes you wonder who is driving what in that test and what their skill levels are.

Jeb, I understand what you are saying and I agree, it does seem like fun. But it's hardly a great metric to really gauge performance. Especially considering none of these cars are really drag cars.

I think maybe it's because ZR-1's are somewhat less common. Curiously, I think in some ways the Z-06 is a better track car; I've heard the Carbon-Ceramic brakes actually fade a bit under heavy use, and despite the weight savings features, the Z06 weighs about 200lbs less. Still, it's curious why they would pick a

Right. But I suspect these cars were all tested as-delivered from the factory, and I'm sure if you put slicks on an a GT-R it may still maintain it's slight lead, but who knows. Also remember, considering there's 11 cars here, driver skill could very quite a bit.

To be honest I did my research in 10 minutes before my MatLab programming class. I wasn't sure how they tested it, but they said it was consistently a few 10ths slower than the GT-R. But, as has been mentioned, maybe it's not all that great?

Wouldn't that be the answer if they actually did what KDS was talking about? I think the answer here its more: Because pandering to ignorant Americans.

Derp, they missed one.
