I am inclined to agree with you.

1st - I think the economy is part of it, but also I’m just not seeing anything worth buying. The new Blazer is a joke. VW’s new sedan (whatever it’s called) apparently is getting meh reviews. I haven’t looked into the new Honda Passport but I did see a brand new one this morning. At least I think it was a Passport.…
This is exciting. Mrs. Snuze and I recently bought a new crossover in this class, and we were in love with the CX-5, it was a great value, but the lack of power was tough. We ended up with a GMC Terrain Denali, but I feel like a Turbo CX-5 might have tipped the scales back the other way.
GMs problems had nothing to do with their engines. They were like automotive Betamax!
As someone who also lived in Virginia, I agree.
That makes sense. I mentioned in another comment that you probably don’t want Jalops on ever single focus group, lest your product line up turn out to be simply a variety of brown diesel manuals.
I think this isn’t a black or white issue. It’s not like the manufacturers are letting the customer belly up to the drafting table. I think the issue is how much credit to you give to focus groups in informing your decision making and design processes?
How does one go about getting in on one of these focus groups? I think it’s something I’d really like to try sometime.

This is amazing. I love that you found this from 5 years ago and brought it back to my attention. Thank you, kind sir or ma’am.
It’s 2007 and I’m in the Navy. I’d started riding motorcycles several years before after helping one of my roommates in A-School do some wrenching on his bike. I fell in loved the idea of cheap, easy to work on speed, so I got my own. I worked up from cheap, used, crappy biked and eventually bought a brand new…
I had a Cobalt LS before the Cruze. That car was a little tank, it would eat up highway miles like a champ, and other than a couple of ignition switches, it never gave me a moments trouble.
Forester XT... nice.
The 1.8L NA is a sin and should never have been offered. I have a 2012 1.4L Turbo and it is a nice little driver. I average 36.5mpg in DC traffic every day, and have pulled about 41mpg on long road trips with 4 adults and a trunk full of luggage.
To be that guy, the base starts at $17k, but your right, thats still a $5k premium, which seems like a lot of money just to add a hatch back.
What’s Cara?
Thanks, Tom. You may have just ruined my marriage.
As someone who owns a Cruze, it’s not always the best at doing, I dunno, car stuff. I mean it goes and stops and gets me to work, and I do kind of like it. But it’s cramped, back seats aren’t the most comfortable, cargo space is limited, etc.
Connecticut was the same way. Open container law was “One less than the number of people in the vehicle; must be in positive control of occupants”
HOLY SHIT YOU ARE A GENIUS! I WANT TO INVEST ALL MY MONIES IN THIS VENTURE BECAUSE THERE IS NO WAY THIS CANNOT BE A SUCCESS!
