But now you do! Spread the word!
But now you do! Spread the word!
Why?
I wish there were more clips available of her singing and dancing career. I don't think a lot of people know about her work beyond her writing.
This is why the NY Times piece picks apart the idea that college isn't worth it. Because for people who aren't already on solid ground, financially/economically, that's just terrible advice.
Damn Kinja! We're on the same page now, I think.
Sorry for the misunderstanding- "Can we get some apologies from all the people who said Michael Jackson had vitiligo..." made it sound like you were saying that people were falsely claiming he had vitiligo.
Well, there you go. Not a pernicious lie!
I'm pretty sure handball and racket ball are both much nerdier than tennis.
His biographer made the vitiligo claim- he wrote that he was diagnosed with it, though his skin's evenness of tone is what makes people dispute that diagnosis. I don't think Michael Jackson ever said anything about it. I mean, something clearly did happen to his skin, whether it was an autoimmune disorder or skin…
Well, I think that stems from Michael Jackson- a biographer claimed that his lightened skin was from vitiligo. Was it really? We'll never know for sure.
I really don't think it's as dire as the media makes it seem. Yes, there are people who are struggling to find work and are having problems paying back their student loans. But a lot of that pain is avoidable. Students can go to community college for 2 years inexpensively then transfer to a state university and finish…
She should be fucking happy she was able to pay off $100,000+ in loans in 16 years, rather than 20 or 25 or 30.
Working retail/service jobs for life will not keep your son out of debt. It will virtually guarantee a lifetime in near-poverty. If he has skills or is interested in a trade but not "college material", he should consider pursuing training in that field. There are fewer and fewer "blue-collar" jobs available in this…
There's a reason Gawker is blocked at my office, but not Jezebel.
By that logic, STEM programs are for money-grubbing assholes.
This is the dumbest argument, and it's not supported by any evidence. Money-making opportunities aside, arguing that STEM degrees are the only degrees worth pursuing fails to respect the value of humanities and arts in society. We devalue art, literature, social studies, history, etc. at our own peril.
The people for whom a college degree might not be "worth it" are those who are a) already incredibly talented and accomplished entrepreneur-types who would succeed in life no matter what (see: the Mark Zuckerbergs/Bill Gates) or b) so-called "non-traditional" students who would be better served by vocational training…
Not all STEM degrees!
Sadly, I think he is relevant...because he's the public face of all of the human garbagefires who think the very things he says out loud, with a microphone.
DUH. OF COURSE it's possible to be a racist without being in the KKK. That describes MOST racists. I'm really not trying to be mean, but I can't believe this is just occurring to you.
